So You Think You Can Can't Dance?

There's something I've been holding back from you for some time now, but I can be silent no longer... Did that fill up your senses??? then you should see him sing his big hit, "Chocolate Rain" . Seriously-take 5 minutes and do it now. That's all I have energy to say this weekend... enjoy.

That'd Be Great

Image
Ummm, yeah... If you could go ahead and get Those TPS reports done, and turn them in by the end of the day, that'd be great. Oh and one more thing... I'm gonna have to ask you to go ahead and come in tomorrow... and Sunday too, so if you could just do that, That'd be Grrreaaatt... (Sound Familiar?? Only the greatest movie of all time, Office Space !! (Copy of the TPS Report above in PDF-really!). It's been a busy day, I'm ready for the weekend for certain. I just thought we'd end the week with a little humor... enjoy. Have a great weekend everyone!! Don't forget to check out all our Blog Talk Radio friends (See my Sidebar for direct links). That's Rockdog, and Yas, and still on Thursday nights, Meggy Moon.

Coffee, Games and Men

Image
Thursday morning began by my waking up earlier than usual. I attribute this to the fact that I took the Tylenol Simply Sleep at 8:00 p.m. instead of 9 or 10 as I had been. The first two nights, I still could not wake up as planned. After taking it at 8 instead, I was successful! So afterwards, I came home and made a healthy low-carb breakfast of Turkey Bacon, and Grade A organic Eggs. As well, I put on a nice pot of strong coffee. This is the first time I have made coffee since I bought my big "ThermoServ" mug, so needless to say I was thrilled to indulge in this climactic event. I proceeded to get ready for work, and after all that effort at making an "earlier" start, getting ready, I still arrived in the parking garage at the same time as I have been... WTF?? Where did I go wrong?? Do I have a built-in time clock now that says, "Nooo, just chill out it is not late enough for you to leave yet... Oh go the speed limit, you've got plenty of time!!" (Wel

Unchained Wednesday

Meetings and agendas, work and general stuff... It's mid week, we don't have much longer before weekend time again. Crossed the bridge on my lunch break, and jumped over into Arkansas for a minute, then came back to prepare for my 1:30 meeting. I love to get out sometimes in the car, even if only for a few minutes to listen to some music because it always relaxes me. I'll often be caught listening to oldies, or old "feel good" rock music. Today I happened to get stuck on some Van Halen. I love original "Van Halen". I was feeling in the mood for this today, and I thought it was a good video to post for Wednesday (Hump Day)... Hope you enjoy this, and I hope it gets you over the Hump and Rocks you on to the weekend... So Stay "Unchained"!!

WWC - Urban and Country

Image
This week's WWC was themed with the words "Urban" and "Country". Now, Urban is defined as "related to cities", and of course Country can either be a country or it can be related to living along the countryside. For my submission, I couldn't resist sharing this unusual photo. It was taken right in the middle of Downtown Memphis, in a rather run-down looking area, amongst the bricks and the metal of the old shop, I spotted a gorgeous huge Sunflower flourishing there (such a refreshing burst of color)... which I normally only see out in a big field in the middle of the country... So once again, I share with you both theme words in one photo. However, I am sharing all 3 shots of this flower so you can get a better idea how it was located... Enjoy! Once again, if you would like to participate with Jay , and myself then go over to Pickled Beef and check it out!

Shiny Happy Monday

Just skittering about today, I have been pretty busy but I still had time to come in and say Hi-ya to all of you guys. The weekend was pretty nice and all, I did not get a whole lot accomplished, but on the flip side I didn't get into a big guilt trip about it either... I just rolled with the flow. Glad you all liked my photos from the Historic Elmwood Cemetery , I enjoyed my photo-visit there and plan on going back soon... If you want to check it out, the link takes you to their main page, and you can read about it. Maybe even visit it if you ever pop through Memphis (after your maniacally entertaining visit to Graceland of course *rolls eyes*). Oh sweet Jesus!! I almost forgot that Tomorrow is Tuesday, and nearly time for me to submit my photo for the (WWC) "Weekly Word Challenge" brought to us by the wonderful Tink, of Pickled Beef . This week's selection is themed with the words "Urban" and "Country". Wish me luck!! I have nothing very enterta

Mami Got A Brand New Tag

Image
Desktop Madness! Look at mine and others!! Well, I'll be a Monkey's Uncle... Or Aunt really-I was tagged by the blogging, golfing dynamo, Speedcat Hollydale who was tagged by Rolando from R playground. Speedcat is one of my newest bloglinks. He runs an interesting blog chocked full of humor and whackiness... and as you know, Auntie Jackie LOVES Whacky! So pop in and say hello to Speedo if you have time, he's a cool cat. On to the TAG! What’s on your desktop? (here's mine) My desktop probably reflects me, and my unorganized personality. It has a plethora of software shortcuts, and temporary images on it that I save just long enough to use, and I either reorganize them later into another folder, or delete them if I have no more use for them. I'm on Windows XP, this is by the way my laptop desktop too-I have 2 PCs in the back too (courtesy Mr. J's mad skillz). I'm mortified by the archaic stuff Speedycat said about HIS desktop, seems he needs a nudge

Sunderday

Image
It's still Saturday in my mind, but technically it is already Sunday morning... my how the weekend doth blur together. So I am sitting here nibbling on Funyuns, watching "Are We Done Yet?" with Ice Cube and cuddling with my vereh own Kitteh (which is Yas-speak for... Kitteh). While perusing comments for addictive-like-crack MySpace, I discovered this one, which is cute and funny. It's from a website called Can I Has Cheezburger? . I know, a little goofy but it caught my eye. I had a nice time earlier, I got to take my Mommy shopping. I drove down, picked her up and we went to Burlington Coat Factory and she bought a new suit, and I picked up a pair of jeans and a couple of pieces for work attire. Then we went to a place to pick up some fabric for Mom (she sews, alot... and quilts). Went home, had coffee and visited a while. Wondering where Mr. J is?? Well, he went on a guy night with his friend Gary. They were going to hang out and do "Guy Stuff" which basic

Grave-y Day

Image
Today is the day! Conditions are finally just right, the weather is good, everyone's on board and we get to go over to the Historic Elmwood Cemetery to take photos finally! (the one in the pic is not mine, but it's an example) This will be fun. I am planning to post up a couple if I get some good shots later, so check back! Hope your Fridays are going well... Anyone have fun plans this weekend? (The photo featured here is one I took of one of the many angel monuments in the cemetery)

The Son Will Come Out Tu Morrow

Image
Celebrities and their children again... WTF?!?! And What Name Will Phinnaeus Have For Mommy? . <--This article is a pretty good rundown of all of the hottest newsworthy celebs and the names that they have granted to their offspring (hint: Phinnaeus is the name of one of Julia Roberts' children). I'm with you guys. They shouldn't be allowed to speak in public-haha! Hey, I'm all for live and let live, I know I don't sound like it when I mention stuff like this, but hey I'm thinking of the children! They're all going to hate their parents, which they probably would anyway for more reasons than just the name that they were given. One of the names that stood out to me was one given by Rob Morrow (most famous for his role in "Northern Exposure") and his wife Debbon. Their first child, a daughter, they named "Tu Simone Morrow" (Just think on that for a moment. Tu Morrow). Wow, Great one guys.! Funny that I had been talking about this subje

Welcome to Dummyland!

Image
Last night, I was watching The Outsiders , which reminded me of High School. This was mainly because our English Teacher, Mrs. Jubb brought in the movie and had us watch it in class one year. Therefore, over the course of probably three days, we got to dim the lights, sit back and enjoy a nice movie (sans popcorn of course, since no eating was allowed in class). Still, it was a break from the norm. I had many memorable teachers throughout the course of my education, however "Coach Durr" stands out for many reasons. Coach Durr was one of the school's coaches, and a history teacher (why do they always have the Coaches teach History?? They really shouldn't). On any given day, you could sit back and enjoy a nice history lecture by Coach Durr, and he did know his stuff... or you might catch him sitting silently at his desk "hidden" behind a book, picking his rather large-nostrils. His teaching methods were quite interesting to say the least. He came up with a met

Rumer Has It

Image
I don't remember how I came across something that made me think about Bruce and Demi and the kids the other day, but I just did. In doing so, I was shocked to realize that the Willis children are all pretty much grown up now (and are ecstatic I'm sure, to have Ashton K. as a step-father [s]). Of the Willis girls, the oldest is "Rumer"... I'll elaborate on names in a moment. First, take a look at Exhibit A. (click to enlarge for full effect!) Ok, is it just me or looking back do you think that Demi wishes that she had selected a better father genetically than Bruce?? Look at them, I mean Demi had the wide-set jaw, but it wasn't so bad because her chin was rather small. Then comes Bruce with his face shape, jaw, chin, and somewhere, something when terribly wrong. See any Resemblance?? I feel bad, I am not being intentionally cruel (I swear... I know, "Jackie why are you posting this if you don't mean to be cruel?). You're so right... and I know tha

Photuesday

Image
Today's Tuesday photo is a storm off the bluff close to where I live... I think it encompasses Color and Change in that there is a change in the weather, and the colors of the storm are delicate, yet calming... This was intended as my entry for the photo challenge over at Pickled Beef , (am I too late??) (Jay let me know if I am not). Enjoy!

Mondays are Funky

Image
Mondays are good, AND bad... I know they get a bad rep because mostly they loom over us like some blood-sucking, brain-eating zombie creature... but they don't have to be all bad. I've had a couple cups of coffee and I'm seeing things through caffeine-goggles... hey man, whatever it takes. Started the day off with the Engine light coming on in my car, so after sorrowfully parting with $50 dollars for 'diagnostic services' to ensure that I wasn't about to have to overhaul the engine, I found out that it was just a loose hose... that's nice. That could have gone towards a tank and 1/2 of gasoline, or a few groceries, but Mr. Mechanic, I ain't mad atcha. Following in with Mr. J about 2 weeks late (due to my lack of motivation and my weak willpower) in eating close to The Anabolic Diet , but I will be making some adjustments to that plan as a female. Also, we won't be eating high-fat meats and stuff, we'll be ingesting healthy "GOOD" fats,

It Ain't Me Babe

Yes, change of background... not by choice. I lost the other one. I made a back-up of this one so I guess I'm safe for now. No matter, just another symbolic display that shows things constantly change, and the things that you love can never stay (or stay as you like them)... whether they be circumstances, youth, feelings, friends, families, people, love, hate, peace, war, ideas, or dreams. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go away from my window Leave at your own chosen speed I'm not the one you want, babe I'm not the one you need You say you're lookin' for someone Who's never weak but always strong To protect you and defend you Whether you are right or wrong Someone to open each and every door You say you're lookin' for someone To pick you up each time you fall To gather flowers constantly And to come each time you call And will love you for your life And nothin' more But it ain't me babe No, no, no, it ain't me babe It ain't me you're look

I Blog, Therefore I am

You know why I sometimes prefer to hide in the fluffy comfort of "Blogville"? Because here, you can express yourself, your thoughts, let people know what's on your mind and most of the time I feel accepted "as is". Whereas maybe in daily (real) life, here at home or in public I just feel like ripping people's faces off sometimes... I should not have to feel guilty for having strong feelings or emotions, and I should feel comfortable to express myself whenever I want to without always feeling like I've done or said too much, or that I have made someone dissatisfied or gotten on their last nerve. One might ask, "Why are you always blogging?" My answer... "Because there, I can smile for free." Sometimes I just want to say "Go To Hell".

Who Are You?

Image
People in daily life often say this, and I read blogs here and there of people who make note that they either hate what they do for a living, or they are only doing what they do because they have to in order to survive and take care of their families. I, myself, am still relatively new in the Information Technology area, and I still like what I do very much and enjoy where as well... I'm pretty lucky. Good environment, good people. Still, the question on my mind today is "What would you REALLY do with your life, if you didn't HAVE to?" This means, what is the one thing that you love more than anything that you would do if you could just be yourself and not have to worry about bills, babies and chains of the daily grind? Who are you, really? I would be Oil Painting somewhere in Greece or Italy, or maybe just making my way through the USA capturing the essence of our time on canvas one city at a time... Either way, I'm a misplaced artist... (and slacker). No, Actual

Let's Get Technical

Image
I am drinking more and more coffee these days it seems. This is obviously a step further in my inevitable journey to become my mother. Becoming my mother, as I have said before would not be such a bad thing... she's the greatest woman I know. If you knew her, you'd feel the same way too. But I digress as usual, and the coffee slowly steals my soul. What on earth did we really do before the internet?? I remember a life before all this online madness. It included dressing up and going out all the time, jamming to more music than watching any t.v. or internet videos, and spending more time with my friends and family... Seemed like times were so much more simple before I ever "came of age" to technology. We can thank my husband for this gift of gadgetry I guess, he's the one who gave me Playstation, World of Warcraft, and the ride down the information super-highway. However, he was also the catalyst for my career change INTO Information Technology and Web Development

Toilet Humor

Image
I spotted this and I could not resist posting it. I know we have many fans of toilets, and the activities that take place in the bathroom (especially you Rockdog and Corky!). So I have to show you this... the "Amazingly Weird Toilets and Sinks". (Warning, parental advisory as there are some overly-sexy ones lol!!) clipped from www.jimmyr.com Weird Toilets Urinals and Sinks from Around the World Ever been sitting on the tv watching the couch thinking about how people from other parts of the world pee? Here's an awesome collection of cool pics. Second runner up, was another clipmark article I almost posted: Could Amy Winehouse Be Pregnant?? . Check it out.

Cool Your Jets

Right now it is 70 degrees (F), which is roughly 21 degrees (C)... That is a fantastic thing for me. The high is predicted to be about 83 F/28 C, with a low tonight of friggin 57!! (13 C). This is such a dreamy break from the August drought and heat wave we experienced. I'm not fooling myself into thinking that it can't jump back up to 99 again next week, believe me, this is Memphis we're talking about here... but I am definitely enjoying it while it's here. Great weather to just chill-literally! Then when it actually gets so cool that you can't help but feel that energetic "Snap" in your step, and shivers down your spine, breathing in that frosty delicious fall/winter air, that's when I'll really be ready to party! This has just been so nice, forgive me for going on over the weather. It's those little rains we've been having (finally) that we needed so much! Rain always refreshes everything, including my soul... Ahhhhhhhhh. Oh hey, a ques

Of Popcorn & Pop Princesses

Image
There is absolutely nothing we can do anymore, it seems, that doesn't kill us or give us a disease. This takes the fun out of most activities, don't you think? I know that most of the time when someone dies from something, or gets sick, it's usually due to an overindulgence IN said activity, but still leaves the rest of us wondering 'What Next on our DO NOT LIST??' Just yesterday I was listening to Howard , and one of their news goodies stated that there was a man who ended up with a very rare lung disease that is usually found only in people with heavy exposure to microwaveable popcorn , like working at the plant where they make it and all. However, this dude did not work with the popcorn, he simply had been eating two (2) bags of the stuff a day, every day for like ten years. Eating it wasn't what gave him the lung disease... it was (wait for it), the steam from the bag... Seems he always liked to inhale that burst of smoky steam from the bag of popcorn upon
