All Our Wrong Todays

Short one today... I think I have figured out a really cool premise for a book or short story. Depending on what it decides it is. It could think itself magnificent and gargantuan and decide it is to be a novel, but presently it is the birth of an idea. Maybe this is the progressing of my creative journey. I have been really thinking and planning many things lately. I have been taking down a lot of notes on ideas and meditating within for answers, ideas and direction. There are whole other Universes out there... I think this is the time, that things are beginning to move forward more. I am excited. I'm beginning to feel less depressed and aimless and like I have some direction for my journey. I'm extremely glad for this, you just don't know. Now that is if I can whip myself into shape and take care of myself better so as to be able to make it to where I want to go... or well, enjoy my journey. I am presently reading the book (well, listening to the audiobook) "...

The Paperless Age

Recently, I picked up an old book I haven't read in a while by one of my favorite authors, Richard Bach entitled "The Bridge Across Forever". The pages yellowed with age, and old bookmarks playing acrobatics in and out of the pages, I read through the pages as if reading them for the first time all over again. This in part because it has been so long since I actually read it, but I think that no matter how many times you read a book, you will always find something new, a message meant for just you, at exactly the right time. "For the Love Of Story Time!" That is the beauty of the written word, you can settle yourself in to your favorite nook or cranny, ball up next to a fire with your cup of hot cocoa, and not be disturbed as you slip into a completely different dimension, another world all its own with people, ideas and possibilities you never gave thought to before. So, you escape, shutting the noise and the chaos of this tired existence out for a while...

End Of The Road

"So in America when the sun goes down and I sit on the old broken-down river pier watching the long, long skies over New Jersey and sense all that raw land that rolls in one unbelievable huge bulge over to the West Coast, and all that road going, all the people dreaming in the immensity of it, and in Iowa I know by now the children must be crying in the land where they let the children cry, and tonight the stars'll be out, and don't you know that God is Pooh Bear? The evening star must be drooping and shedding her sparkler dims on the prairie, which is just before the coming of complete night that blesses the earth, darkens all rivers, cups the peaks and folds the final shore in, and nobody, nobody knows what's going to happen to anybody besides the forlorn rags of growing old, I think of Dean Moriarty, I even think of Old Dean Moriarty the father we never found, I think of Dean Moriarty." Those were the last, gasping lines of Jack Kerouac's "On The Road...

Shiny Crappy Monday

I know, I know, it seems like next weekend is very far away right about now. But take heart, it will get here before you know it. Our weekend was pretty busy, just with family stuff and unexpected house guests. Took some good photos of my Mom yesterday. She posed for me in her new suit, and looked perfect and angelic as always. I think I will have them printed for her, she always likes that. Also, took some self-portraits and I added a new one to my profile. I wasn't looking my best, but I was just goofing around and decided to throw a few of myself in, since I take after my Dad (he always took self portraits too). Went over to Xanadu Book Store the other day, as they have not only books but music equipment. Mr. J was looking at some of the music equipment, and I began browsing the books. Of course I couldn't walk away empty handed. I held two books in my hands. The first one was "On The Road" written by Jack Kerouac . The other was Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Go...
