Uncomfortably Numb

Image
I'm back, sort of... I guess. I took a little weekend break from the blog. In fact, I was practically worthless over the weekend, almost like I was in hibernation. I don't know why. Friday night went very nice, we went out to "Kudzu's", which is a little bar in downtown Memphis where we will be playing tomorrow night, our first little gig and all. We went to Kudzu's to hang out and celebrate Richie's birthday, as well as just make an appearance and check out the scene and all. There were some musicians playing there Friday night who are part of a Thursday night event called "Pickin Party". These guys are not exactly a group, but they just hang out and jam together. Their instruments range from their guitars to their ukulele and Dobro. They played many different songs ranging from folk, and old outlaw country stuff to some acoustic versions of pretty known rock songs... They were great. It was a small group of us just celebrating. Richie's fri...

Stormy Monday

Well, not literally... basically i'm on my 2nd cup of 'afternoon coffee', and more so in a cloud of things to finish up today so I really won't be posting anything of interest. Rather, I will offer you the extra time to play 'catch up' on some of my 'previous posts' if you have interest and haven't had a chance to read back. If so, you can still catch up on the saga of the Fireman, or my rant on inconsiderate drivers, or my general rant about how I am the worst procrastinator in the world... Oh yes, and my last piece on Soulmates if you like that--Something for everyone! It's all here folks! :) Oh one thing I did want to ask is if anyone else saw the strange lights hovering low in the skies kind of late on Thursday night?? Richie and I had left band practice and we were driving home and there were little strange formations of low-hanging lights all through the sky not just near the airport, but even west of our airport. They weren't airplanes...

Funday is the First Day of the Week

Yes, I've officially changed the name of Monday to "Funday". If you can't beat em', join em... right? Why worry about all of the things you have no control over?? Why let things get to you and stress you out causing mental and physical harm to yourself?? Worrying only hurts you... Everyone else just goes on with their lives... so let's boycott the stress, the guilt and the worry. If you've ever seen "Office Space" , you'll know that the main character "Peter", just decided that he was tired of it all and just not going to do any of it anymore... Wouldn't that be great?? We can at least try... Oh, well I'm feeling some better in the way of Holiday thinking (sort of as I stated above). I'll just do what I can do, and the rest i'll leave for someone else to stress over :) Is that person going to be you?? Or will you join me in the ranks of the 'Let it Flow" movement?? It's your health... hehe. Well, i...

The Mean Monday Cloud

I've had a cloudy head today , just a tiny headache really, maybe some caffeine will rid me of that... a bit later. Do you ever just feel like your head is spinning from so much to think and do? Probably all part of my self-diagnosed A.D.D., but I just can't seem to concentrate much on the things I need to do most. Feels like the world is on 'high-spin' cycle and I need it to slow down just enough for me to bail. That's right, jump off and take a backseat so I can watch from afar for a while. The hustle and bustle never looks as exasperating that way. If you've ever been extremely far up in the floors of a tall building, or atop a large structure, looking down and observing as the rest of the world goes about their business, it's a peaceful feeling... like you're removed from it... sort of. Like the part of Ferris Bueller's Day Off , where they're looking down on the city from a window of a skyscraper, stating that the city looks so peaceful from...
