Deep In The Forrest

Right now it is 70 degrees (F), which is roughly 21 degrees (C)... That is a fantastic thing for me. The high is predicted to be about 83 F/28 C, with a low tonight of friggin 57!! (13 C). This is such a dreamy break from the August drought and heat wave we experienced. I'm not fooling myself into thinking that it can't jump back up to 99 again next week, believe me, this is Memphis we're talking about here... but I am definitely enjoying it while it's here. Great weather to just chill-literally! Then when it actually gets so cool that you can't help but feel that energetic "Snap" in your step, and shivers down your spine, breathing in that frosty delicious fall/winter air, that's when I'll really be ready to party! This has just been so nice, forgive me for going on over the weather. It's those little rains we've been having (finally) that we needed so much! I love metal music, and I love animals as you can all tell. When the two happen to come together, I think it's twice as Badass! Recently, I became aware of a Grindcore band called "Caninus", from Brooklyn, NY , who record and use their Pit Bull dogs as lead singers (To listen in, Visit the Caninus MySpace page . The guys promote animal rights and vegan lifestyle from what I can tell on their site, but I can't help but laugh when I listen... They say all they wanted to do is have fun and play music, and I can totally identify with that... the dogs are pretty cute too. Suck on that Michael Vick. Another interesting article I read was For Those About To Squawk . This one highlights a similar situation with a an African Grey Parrot named "Waldo" who sings lead for a band called "Hatebeak" . I've seen birds do some pretty crazy stuff, everything from beat boxing to head banging, and I believe they could probably head up a metal band too... this bird...

Sometimes the simplest things can be intricate and dramatic when you simply stop and observe. I went to visit Mom and Dad today and enjoyed some wonderful "Coffee Talk", and while I was there I witnessed a bit of real life nature in action. Just as I was about to walk out onto the front porch, so afraid of wasps as I am, I stopped waiting for one to fly away when I observed it suddenly trapped in the web of a very small spider. I could've opened the door, and continued on at this point, but I was mesmerized by the ferocity of the wasps 'then fate'. She immediately sprang into action, zipping down close to the wasp, but then quickly scurrying back to the top of her web, waiting for the wasp to get caught up enough and in a good position for her to pounce. Back and forth she went until the wasp, in an effort to untangle himself, got even more stuck. So then she zooms down and attempts to capture him.
