Motorcycle Madness

Image
I got a motorcycle for Christmas when I was about 12. It was a "Honda MB5" built for only one person and could be driven on the road, but still I drove my nieces and my sister around whenever nobody was looking. It was a great two-wheel vehicle, and I got a ton of enjoyment out of the thing. Looking back now, I cannot imagine what possessed my Mother to agree to me owning a motorcycle because she was so overprotective. Now, even my husband won't agree to let me have one... maybe I'll eventually wear him down. What is it we chicks dig about motorcycles? I've been a fan ever since fifth grade when I pledged my eternal love to "The Fonz" during Happy Days re-runs. From then on, I was hooked. Whenever I would see one on the road, my heart would leap and my imagination would run wild with fantasies of riding off on the long highways with a handsome, roughneck on a "Hog". Fonz was the least of Mama's worries, however as this obsession would lat...

Butterflies and Zebras and Moonbeams - Part IV

Image
Latest Chapter... please enjoy. Got some catching up to do? Then you can check Parts I - III here: Butterflies and Zebras and Moonbeams - Part I Butterflies and Zebras and Moonbeams - Part II Butterflies and Zebras and Moonbeams - Part III After the night at the lake , things were a little stranger... not in a bad way, but there were more understood feelings there, even if we didn't talk about them, we knew what had been said and how the other felt. Looking back, I guess I had aspirations of the thing lasting indefinitely. Even Z had said, "Who knows, this might last a few months, it could last ten years." But I romanticized it, and I wanted it to go on, and on and on. We continued to see each other whenever we could work it out, and we even planned a Friday off together here and there. One in particular stands out in my memory. "This Friday," Z said, "Let's spend the whole day together." This was completely agreeable to me, as I took any opportuni...

Butterflies and Zebras and Moonbeams - Part I

Music has been my salvation, music has also been a catalyst for my mischief and the force behind some of the trouble that I have gotten myself into... Do you ever hear certain songs that take you right back to an exact moment in time? I know I do, and I did today. It was all about Z. It's been ten years, and still the memory of Z can make me sweat. Z knew that I was a pianist, as well as that I enjoyed singing. He could sing a fire into your soul himself with that voice of his. He's one of those memories I really shouldn't write about, but I can't quite help myself. We worked the 2nd shift together. I always admired him, but never in a million years thought that something would come of it. But music knew... music wanted me to crash into reckless abandon, so it took the wheel. At this printing company, I worked with a couple of other women on this 2nd shift-we were all typesetters, typesetting for mostly medical journals and other magazines. Directly behind our cubicles ...

Close Encounters of the Dork Kind

Image
Happy Friday the 13th / Dorkteenth. Yes, that's right it's finally here. So go enjoy it and watch for the freaky things that you might see all day long. There's a magical feeling in the air, and I think it's going to be a memorable Friday... even if it is just because I posted one big dorky story to remember. It's not too late for you to get involved and post your very own Dork story in honor of this big day. I think you can Vote Here. Don't forget to vote for me!!! As a child, I technically had older siblings, but they were already grown and out on their own by the time I was four years old. So, there I was growing up out in the country, pretty-much an "Only Child". My parents did not indulge in cable television, so I had no MTV, I had no HBO or Comedy Channel, or video games. To get those things I usually spent time at my sister, Vickie's house. Visiting Vickie was a whole exciting adventure for me because it was so different from home, and alth...

Out Ta Get Me

Image
T here was something about him, maybe the way he played guitar, or his wild, 'bad boy' image. Maybe it was his excessive drinking that turned me on, or perhaps the cigarette that always hung loosely from his lips... not to mention that wonderful, wild enormous mane of his. That fateful day, the day we met is one that I won't soon forget... I had it all perfectly planned out. I woke up extra early that morning and began to ready myself. Today was the day. I would finally get to meet him. Shivers ran through my body at the idea that I would be in his presence... face-to-face. I was so nervous that I could barely cake on the sufficient eyeliner and mascara ('I have to get this just right!' I thought, blood running cold). Carefully, I dressed so as not to tear my brand new stockings, and I wore 'The Suit'... the sleek black sexy suit--something great always happened when I wore it... There was no other choice. So, I slid into the fitting skirt which landed perfe...

Smoke Signals

"Hello Jacqueline." he says with a sultry voice (or maybe it was my imagination). "This is Bryan. How are you?" My imagination runs wild, and I shake slightly with nervous anticipation, wondering why he'd called ME... what exactly was he up to? Not to allow my composure to be ruffled, I put on my cheeriest, sexiest southern voice. "Well Hello Bryan. I'm doing just great and yourself?" Smiling, over-the-phone like they teach you to do in any type of customer-service work. "I'm doing great, even better now." He blurted out with a sensual undertone. There was a slightly awkward pause, as I still wasn't sure of his agenda. He began to quiz me on my job functions and different aspects of the job. 'Did I like working there, etc...' "How long have you been working there?" I'm remembering the frame of his body, his stature and the way he carried himself. He was smooth. I knew that already. He was pretending to be int...

Where There's Smoke, There's Fire

It was not unlike most other days at the printing company, everyone was just sprinting about, rushing to complete their tasks, crunching to make the daily deadlines. Most of the time, Printing is a fast-paced environment indeed. For the most part, I assisted in a great deal of the proof making, proofreading and then of course backed up Glenda, who worked up front assisting the many customers that passed through. I hadn't been working there all that long, but I was getting used to everyone and had made some friendly acquaintances by this time. Guess I had already gotten a rhythmic work flow about me. I was sitting at my desk in the proofing room, looking over some materials when I saw this extremely hot 'hard body' walk past the window, approaching the entrance of the shop. The window blind was positioned in such a way that I could only see the torso portion, and had not yet put a face to this heavenly body. As he passed, I did a 'double-take'. There was no way I...

Those Magic Sunglasses

I'll do a short one today, unless I think of something saucier later... hehe. Once I dated a fireman. This was the result (go ahead, I know you're gonna make fun-and if you're wondering, yes I did give him a copy of this poem): "And there you were, eyes upon me... as I rounded the corner of "Self" & "Pity" streets... You smiled, and lowered your magic sunglasses, and the world danced 'round in the opposite direction, and I couldn't stop it. Born of my strengths and my lust, you became my weakness, spinning me like a top, making me feel like the same toy of a child. What a fantastical, wild ride! I wouldn't--COULDN'T take it back and erase it; but rewind, maybe? Perhaps pause above you, as I stare into your mocking, subliminal eyes? Feeling you, as you become that 'Midnight Train' that I've so often heard about on the streets--or in a song. Somehow, I manage to make it permissable... for me--it's okay. Where does i...

Rock-n-Roll Hootchie Coo

Everyone looks forward to Friday, right? I'm no exception really... and this weekend is a long one for me as I'll be off for the "Presidents' Day Holiday", so that's a 3 day weekend. Yeehah! Since it is Friday and all, I would like to do something special and worthwhile. However, I had a hard time thinking of what to put up for today. I thought it should be somewhat 'debaucherous', as maybe someone has to take over for RockDog , who's busy writing a somewhat tame tale right now about a nerd named Kirby and the girl who loves him (or will love him, maybe?). I still have to keep it a bit tame myself, but I'll try to make it interesting. It is, however, a true tale. I once dated a couple of Brothers. Now I know this can conjure up different ideas for everyone, but let me explain. These were physical brothers, sharing the same Mother. O.k., I guess they were half brothers as they had different fathers. Also, I didn't date them at the same time....

IV. Won't You Prey For Me?

"Love is the answer, but while you are waiting for the answer, sex raises some pretty good questions." ~Woody Allen Metal music and tattoos are somewhat like Spaghetti and sauce, usually mixed in together somehow. So, it was only fitting that the bands would book a big show down at a tattoo shop downtown formerly called "The Inkwell". The Inkwell had been the setting of quite a few shows, since it had the space, turned out to be a semi-popular setting for it. On this particular night, they had scheduled an event which consisted of a big group of bands, all anxious to play their gig. We had a good crowd going that night too, most bands have their 'regulars', friends and/or family that tag along so the scene was set for a good show. However, as most people who have been a part of bands, or dealt with bookings you know that if you're set to go on at 9:00, you probably end up playing sometime closer to 11:00. This night was all that and more. Something happ...
