Happy Birthday Snicks

Today is my big sister, Vickie's birthday. Happy Birthday to a sister I love so much. Vickie has been called many nicknames in her life, most of which surround being called "mom", and a wonderful one at that, so Vix, Snicks, Snickerdoodle, "Mom" Sis (and more), you're so loved and I wish for you a supremely wonderful day (and many more). Here's a birthday song for you from one of your favorites The Four Seasons

Bacteria Wars

So the other day, as we were in for a quick lunch we happened by a little "country" buffet. To save my soul, I cannot tell you why I still set foot near a buffet line given the diseased cretins that inhabit the place, but occasionally there we are... shielding ourselves from their barrage of germ-spreading patrons. The particular place I speak of, which I won't give the name of used to be a favorite Chinese restaurant. However, now they're given to half-way decent country style items such as green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, chicken, fish, etc. as well as a few Chinese items. These things would all taste a lot better if you didn't hear 10-15 people sneezing around the salad bar. What gives with that? Anyways, my health is still on the mend with this sinus infection. My condition seems to be greatly improving. This doctor tried to prescribe me an alternate antibiotic called Levofloxacin which is getting some quite rotten reports of giving people tendon t

Ill Winds

The last few days, I have been sick with a cold and just haven't felt like much of anything. It's the coughing, hacking, irritating, wake you up from a good sleep kind of hellish 'Crud' that I despise. However, I'm hanging in here, just biding my time until our weather warms up a bit more. I hope that helps me feel like doing Something . I'm ready for new horizons and positive change. It's time... this same ol' song and dance just isn't cutting it anymore.

Here it is again, the 'V' word... V alentines D ay. If you've been around the Forrest for a while, you know I don't like Valentine's Day very much because I haven't had but maybe 1 good one my whole life... I've written other stories in past Valentines Days, so you can click the little dead cupid below to go read those! (click me dammit, or I died for nothing) Oh, and one more thing before I go, just a reminder. Now, go and do whatever it is you do on lame commercialized holidays like this... and uh, enjoy.

This article is a follow up to a previously written series entitled " Butterflies, Zebras and Moonbeams (for Z) ". It is recommended, but not necessary to have read these before the current article in the interest of comprehension. It is an informative and interesting series, however. Hopefully you will enjoy. There are people who enter our lives, and leave a scratch or two, and then there are those who leave permanent scar tissue on our souls forever. Even though things have happened in my life that broke my heart, I have managed to learn some lessons and realize that ultimately, it was meant to be this way, and it was for the best interest of everyone involved. Life after My Time With Z was probably the toughest emotional growth period of my life. It was far from the crushing blows of "puppy love", and far more serious than crushes I had entertained in my teen years. It was the real thing. I had truly loved, and lost, and had to find some way to convince myself t

Bored

Just not feeling very wordy lately, and thought I'd give others a chance to read the last couple articles anyway, since not many people seemed to have been by to read them yet. I often wonder how some of your blogs have collected so many visitors and commentors. How do you do it?? What traits does my blog need to have for it to be more enjoyable? Just wondered... Seems like as long as I have been around and kept the exact same blog I would have quite a few by now. Maybe more people read and just don't say anything, maybe more than I know. I would like to think so. But that's just me, wishing. :) Ok, enough of that. I just don't have a lot to say right now. We've been having some winter weather, and it has made me a little reclusive. I'll try to work on a story soon, in fact I have been thinking through ideas. Hopefully I will get an epiphany about it and can make it remotely interesting... at least entertaining. Right now, I guess I'll go back to watching my

Soon enough, we'll complain of sweltering summer suns, mosquitoes and the humidity. Well, the humidity stays around these parts more often than not. Still, the point is that we always want the weather to be the opposite of its current state. If you missed last week's English teacher crush story, do Give It a Read! You know you want to. Anyway, after I wrote that, we had some ice / snow hit the area, and I got outright lazy. I didn't take any good photos of any of the cool ice-covered trees, or anything around the area. I don't know why, usually I am the first one out the door to snap and play. More than likely, it was because there was more ice and less snow. I guess I won't get to build any good snowmen this century. I did get a couple of shots, but it was just with my cellphone. One was a smiley face I carved into my ice-covered windshield, and the other was of my German Shepherd, "Dion" as he was marching around in awe and making paw-prints in the fro
