For Those About To Rock

Image
(We salute you!) Apparently, by authority of Her Indoors , I Rock! This is a great honor, and I express my sincere gratitude to you, as well as all of you who made this moment possible! It truly is rare that I win awards, or win much of anything for that matter, but occasionally, the stars align and I do. So, along with the honor of the "Rocking Blogger" award, I also get to award this to 5 more bloggers of my choosing... (which would include Her Indoors, if she hadn't already received this award). However, I couldn't narrow it down to 5 I had to cheat and do 6, and it's my award to give away, so I can do that! :) Congratulations (in no particular order) goes to: Jinks at Jinks Writes and Rewrites . Why? Because she has such an original outlook on life as well as sense of humor. Her blog reflects that. She is always very supportive of me and uplifting, and an all around great friend. So, Jinks, You Rock! Next, our Friendly Neighborhood Rockdog . Why? Of course f...

Sunday Blahs

The weekend hasn't been much to speak of. Rather boring and uneventful really... I didn't get to go to the Music Fest, We cancelled our Barbecue as Richie wasn't really up to it and I didn't have time to get the house in order, nothing fun happened whatsoever and now it is Sunday again and i'm staring at another long work week... fantastic. Where the hell's the magic? The only fun thing that did happen over the weekend was Friday night when Rockdog , Yas , "The Gregmeister" (Rock's buddy, who earned the nicknames "G-wad" and "Gerard"), ZigZagMan (for a while), and I (Jaxxx, AuntJackie, Jackie-whatever you call me) had the silliest, most funtastic webcam party ever!! Well, Rockdog was the only one with a webcam, so we were pretty much all acting insane and watching Rockdog pick his nose, belch and roll his eyes for the camera... nevertheless, we had a blast. Hats off to you guys, and thanks for being the only fun in my weekend!!...

Me Protests He Doth Think Too Much!

Image
I can count on my hand the number of times that I have won something in my life and it never ceases to shock me when I do... I just don't expect it, so it takes me by surprise (usually a good surprise). So yesterday, Rockdog bestowed upon me the honorable 'Thinking Blogger Award', as I proudly display there in my sidebar (just below vote and subscribe). Apparently, I flex his thought muscles... however, despite my titillating (although subtle at times) stories of debauchery and seduction, I merely manage to remind him of burnt biscuits. Gee thanks Rock! (I even threatened to tell the story of the time I gave a stripper on ecstasy a back massage... [to no avail] go figure) ;) So, If you'd like to read Rockdog's Thinking Blogger awards comments, click here . Usually, when these awards are given, one must choose 5 other bloggers to pass the honor along to... I am struggling with this and if I am to participate in the 'tagging', I will need more time to make my ...

Thursdays Need Love Too

I've been trying to get some things done today, but alas the temptation to slack has won again. Today is the next to the last day of the week, which happens to be tomorrow... I'm so glad. I'm merely sitting here wondering what I can get stirred up for the weekend. I feel rather mischievous, but don't know exactly what I want to do. Definitely, i'm going to visit Mom and Dad... not sure if I will do that Friday night or Saturday night though (I think it is essential that I enjoy a nice, quiet relaxing visit for my soul). It's an escape for me. Aside from that, it would be cool to have some sort of an adventure! Great visits that I had today were with Dan over at Dan's Blah Blah Blog , and we both discovered some very uncanny similarities in our personalities because of our 'Cancerian Heritage'. He shared some great photos with me from the many travels he and his wife Laura have experienced. It's very breathtaking some of the places they have been...

This Is For The Dork In You

Image
Well, I've just pretty much decided what I'm going to present for my Dork story in honor of Friday the Dorkteenth . Yes, that's right-it's a great day for horror stories, or huge stories of embarrassment so I've decided to take time out from my "extreme coolness" to join all of you dorks for a day of fun and celebration. :) If you're wondering what on Earth my story might be about, I'll give you a hint: Childhood Crushes, Mud Pies and Crayola Eyeshadow. Me a lowly fifth grader, and he a sexy senior in high school (I liked em' older back then). So tune in for it... tomorrow. If you haven't checked into this event already, then do so and think about posting your very own tale of Dorkishness. I'm doing it, Rockdog's doing it, and some others I'm sure... so Join Us!!! Therefore, today I'm preparing my thoughts to share with you all tomorrow, a dorky side of me hopefully like none you've ever seen... While you're waitin...

Need Security!! Please, We're insecure!

Image
I was reminded by Rockdog , who was reminded by Jay , who was reminded by Carmen (not sure how long this list goes on-lol) of titillating stories of Security-guard screw-ups and sometimes breaches in security around manufacturing companies, and plant-type environments. How secure can these places be?? I mean, you have a guard shack, and an open gate... lots of times the buildings are in bad parts of town or in the 'industrial' section, which is a bit morose looking in itself. But the guard shacks gave us this evidently 'false sense of security'. They're mostly unarmed, unless they can throw their security badge like some type of karate stars, or maybe knock the criminal down in a puff of cigarette smoke. Otherwise, they're pretty much sitting ducks, am I wrong? Well I once worked in a similar type of environment, but it was the Printing Industry. I was on 1st shift, but I have been through my share of 2nd and 3rd as well. Our building was older, a bit run down,...
