Fall Back

We had the time change last weekend, and that always throws things off a bit. Although the fall is better because in essence, we actually get an hour back into our hot little hands. But what it does to the daylight I don't quite enjoy. It's already bright and shiny early in the morning, then by the time I get off work, the sun is nearly set or as it progresses, the sun is down completely. Yep, I'm just bitching about what I don't like about it... feel free to rag me (I know some of you who have nothing better to do will). So I have said time and time again that I was gonna get back on track and blog more often... Have you guys totally given up on me? I haven't. I may get beat up, stomped down, and shaken up but I never give up. I know that eventually (maybe even this very moment) I will get back in the swing of daily writing.a BBC suggested I pick a day that I do like and blog that day... well, I don't really have a favorite day. I can really kinda bitch about e...

Time For A Cool Change

This has been a really long, hot summer to me... I read someone's status earlier that stated they had complained about the heat in their neck of the woods, and they thanked Mississippi for reminding them of what heat really was. I concur. So, no I haven't felt a lot of relief from these insane temperatures, and it has had the effect on me of making me not want to do much of anything really. I've not even felt like blogging the last few days. I honestly don't feel like it now, I just wanted to say a few words. Today, my main objective and accomplishment was getting over a raging headache, so I wasn't feeling well for most of the day. I finally took enough Advil and a hot mineral bath, and ate a bit of supper and feel kind of human again. In short, I can't wait for fall... late this afternoon when I stepped outside it actually felt pleasant and not like I was sitting between Satan's legs. There is hope yet. Time For A Cooooool Change.

Shooting Stars

There are certain special things in life, people too that fade away as beautifully as the bright light they shone upon their arrival. In a way, blogging has become somewhat of a dying art. It had it's "prime" like we all do... a bright, but short rise to, then fall from glory wherein many people did it because it was the latest cyber-fad, everyone else was doing it, or they loved it at first but for whatever reason, they lost their enthusiasm and decided to leave. We've lost many of our fellow bloggers here and there, when things in their life took more of their time and they weren't able to blog, or when they simply had other interests and just had no desire to do it anymore. Through blogging, we have met some wonderful, funny and inspirational people. One of those people, Tink of Pickled Beef , has decided to be the next one to fade away. This leaves me with a heavy heart... I have enjoyed so much her Weekly Words Challenge, and being a part of her comment comm...

Sunday, Monday or Always

Image
Here I am, working on getting perked up... working on getting back in touch with my writing, blogging and having my head back in the game. It's one of those things, I know anyone might say, blog or don't blog. Who cares? Well, it is one of those things. I love to write, love to blog, it's one of my "therapies" so I would prefer to continue it. Even if I had nobody to read or comment, I would still want to, even though I do love my visitors with a purple passion! ;) First off today, I must share this video that my ol' man (if I am talking biker trash), or 'the ol' ball-n-chain', or if I wanted to be sugary, sickeningly sweet, I could say my 'sugar-pie honey bunches of delicious love muffin excellence', but I know he'd kill me--lol, so I will settle to say "Mr. J" shared with me. Do you remember the ol' Rick Astley "Rick Roll" video that went around the net for so long, where people would share a link with you or y...

Tired Out

I found a "roofing nail" in my back motorcycle tire. It didn't appear that the tire had lost any air, but with a bike tire you don't need to take any chances. So I ran it over to a nearby place (didn't go all the way to the dealer), and he said that with the positioning of said nail and the condition of the tire (about 6,200 miles on it) It wouldn't be safe to try to patch. I was going to go ahead and spring for both new tires as it is a good idea to try to replace both bike tires at the same time, but he didn't have them in stock and would have to order. Therefore, I decided to go with one, just the back tire that he did have in stock for now. I can get a good few more miles out of the front one anyway, and maybe I will be in better shape and can spring for a new set of really good ones. Was just the way my day started... I made the best decision I felt like at the time. So Jimi's all set for a few more miles then, and I am looking towards braving the...

Lovely

I know this will disappoint some of my Rock and Punk guys and gals, but I am in R&B mode today. This one makes me wistful... for many reasons. I remember this feeling. You're Lovely .

Drown and Smother

Since I was a child, I have had the occasional fever blister. Most recently, I had one like two weeks ago, and then this week (after this past Friday's extremely stressful and emotionally wearing day), I popped up with another one. This greatly distressed me, as I feel really bad on a daily basis about how I look to start with, and then to appear even more diseased with these mouth blisters makes me really go off the deep end. So I was thinking about what causes these hellish plagues. I know first off that it is already in the Herp family y'know and lies dormant in the nerve cells until it is triggered by some type of stress, or trauma to the affected area anyways... I know that sounds bad... It's NOT THE GENITAL type, of course, but it still makes one feel disgusting. Even though it is NOT, it could turn into something like that if one doesn't exercise the proper cautionary measures and cleanliness in order to prevent passing it on or having it spread. So yeah, stress ...

Out Of The Closet

Image
N o worries here gentlemen, Aunt Jackie (a.k.a. "AJ", a.k.a. Jaxxx a.k.a. just "Jackie") is a straight girl (so far) with of course skeletons in her closet, none of which, however, are homosexual. She has all manner of friends, though, just for the record, quite a few of them have had other sexual orientations, and that's fine. Nobody messes with my friends, no matter what race, creed, culture, or orientation they might be. This post, oddly enough, is not about sexual orientation, though, but more about music that might be considered "gay" in a totally different way (no matter what your orientation). It's about sappy love songs (one in particular) that I might have fallen victim to, and admittedly have enjoyed on different occasions for various reasons. As I consider myself an avid and eclectic lover of many types of music, but Punk, Rock and Metal above all others, so you can see why I am timidly approaching mentioning the following. Guess I bett...

Walk On

I said something funny to a friend of mine earlier today, when discussing the weekend's events. I said, "I wear many hats, Friday night I had to be a fag hag, Saturday night I had to be a gospel singer, and last night I was a Steeler's Fan". All of it is true, I had a busy weekend. Friday night I had my friend Brian's going away dinner, to say goodbye (end of an era). He moved to Atlanta with his boyfriend. Then Saturday night was the Gospel singing we agreed to sing for Mom. And of course Sunday, I was the ultimate Steelers fan!! They rocked it. Albeit that it was a close game, but they kepts us guessing, and ultimately came through and made it fantastic! Ok, a note about the singing; As I had told you, my niece Ginger and I were ambushed by my Mom kind of "last minute" to perform at her church singing Saturday night. We were both dreading it and didn't know what to sing on such short notice, but we ended up having fun (basically just because we br...

Cursed

For anyone who has ever been lucky enough to feel this kind of Love, but knowing how it feels to lose it. Never quite being able to get it out of your soul. No regrets, but loving that dangerously... loving the curse. This is for all of us... TGIF. Vivian Green - "Cursed" It's R&B, so if you don't like R&B (or rather if you're gonna bitch about it) don't listen. I love music of all kinds. The words are on the screen for this btw. Oh yes, and don't forget about WTF Friday .

Cigarettes and Coffee

Image
I don't do Cigarettes, nope... never been a smoker. But I enjoy coffee very much, especially when it's made by and enjoyed with my wonderful Mother... She makes the best coffee ever... or maybe it's just because it's her. :) Anyway, first I'd like everyone to enjoy this video by the wonderful Otis Redding, "Cigarettes and Coffee" . Couldn't find a live one, so stare at the pic I guess while listening to the cool song. Or you could just continue to read my blog entry while listening. Think of it as 'accompaniment music'. Now on to the latest "AJ Jibber Jabber". All is o.k. here, I guess. I'm just making it through the week and wishing that my band's Gig at The Stage Stop was over with... It really separates up my holiday weekend, and I fear that I am going to go back to work just as tired as when I finished the week... Is that what holidays are all about?? I don't really know anymore. Holidays, for the most part, suck. Th...
