Bite Me!

(Today's angry obscenities are brought to you by the letters "F" and "U" ). Ok, now I'm taking a little time out to bitch... I feel like a good post full of rants. I need to blow off a little steam. So take it as you will, I am going to ramble a bit. You may have to finish this post in sections, or by all means take it all if you are in the mood to read today. I pre-apologize for any over-lengthiness, harshness or obscenities... I simply must let flee my feelings and get it all out. Where oh where oh where should I start?? Fit To Be Gagged And Bound In trying to get back to some sense of normalcy since my Dad's untimely passing, we have of course been trying to keep with a workout schedule as much as possible. Now, Richie and I know how to use the machines, and we workout "Smart" when we use things, we are polite, re-rack our weights, we wipe down machines, and we try to be respectful of others around us who are trying to get in a quality w...

With my history of addiction (to carbs), and the recent "march on fitness" that we have once again joined, along with the diabetes that runs in my family, Richie decided to lay down the law and have me join him on The Anabolic Diet . As hard as it is for me to cut those delicious, mouth-watering carbs, I agreed. Now before you go and lecture me on the perils of fad diets, and how "low carb" is a temporary fix, let me just say that: #1. I know all that stuff... I've been through nearly every fitness craze in my youth you can think of probably. And I know that there is no 'quick fix' or easy way to get or stay thin. You have to stay active, and try to maintain well balanced nutrition, you can't go "eating all that meat" and be healthy. Ok, so that's the thing, you don't have to eat tons of meat to watch your carb intake, and you can still get all of the essential fats, and vitamins and fiber that it takes to be healthy. Anything can b...

Hello Mr. November!

Image
Remember, last month I started a new segment, the Monthly Blog Crush. Last month's saucy squeeze was none other than everyone's favorite trekmeister, Captain Corky . Now, don't go getting the wrong idea. The monthly blog crush is not some 'psycho-stalking-me' after someone for their sex appeal (although a lot of times they do have appeal, and can't help themselves, like Corky and also like this month's target). So, I'm not being some weirdo and trying to "hit on" anyone. And I'm also not being an attention whore. I'm simply expressing my admiration for the blogger for their wit, talent and charisma and letting them know I like them as well as appreciate their patronage to my blog too. It may be a guy or a girl, but happens to be a guy this month too. So, as promised I am revealing my November blog crush. It's the most cynical, cool, saucy, suave bastard that we all know and love... that's right, it's Jay of Cynical Bastard...

Shove Me In the Shallow Water...

Before I Get Too Deep. Does anyone else experience it? The 'after-holiday-what-the-hell-day-is-this' syndrome? I, being out an extra day for the holiday have been all screwed up. Thought it was Tuesday, then I thought it was Thursday yesterday, so today (yesterday's tomorrow) would be Friday. Nope it's just Thursday... which is just fine with me. Mr. X and I have been trying to get back on track (literally) to the tune of waking up at 5:00 a.m. for our first-morning cardio/fat blast workout, and then still doing our weight lifting 3 days a week... In the midst of this we're cutting down on carbs. After lifting, however, you need--and can have the carbs. Believe you me-i'd lift 9 days a week if I can eat my carbs!! So no flavored coffee for me today, no candies (as if I didn't have enough of this stuff during Christmas time). It's hard getting completely back in the swing... But when your clothes begin to loosen and fall off-it always makes you feel 110...
