I went for a ride a little earlier, and I mean the summer heat is on. I read one bank clock that said about 101 degrees, but I don't know. As long as I was rolling I was fine. Anyway, summer ain't playin around and it's not even officially here yet. Almost... hang tight. Two Days until my birthday, -insert unenthusiastic "yay" here. I am taking off but I still have to keep an eye on some work issues. How's that for slavin to th' man? Anyways, this one is short today. You guys have a lot of reading to catch up on anyways, so get started!! :)) Here's how we used to spend summers when I was growing up... I miss the innocence and ignorant joy of youth. Nothing like the sprinkler in the heat of summer. Happy Summer everyone!

Man do the birthdays come and go. I never had many 'big' birthday parties... as I have always said, being in the early summer, everyone was usually off on vacations, traveling, otherwise involved with their summer fun, so it was rare for me to have many guests. The above picture was one of those rare occasions, where a few of my school friends were there, and my nieces, of course were there most of the time... That was my 12th birthday party at McDonald's. Didn't we look like dorks?? hehe. Thing was, we didn't care! We had no worries except how to entertain ourselves, and to have fun... Near bout' the last of the "magic" birthdays this was... But there isn't a good reason for that. I have no excuses for that except to say that it was because my outlook went from magic to dust. Nobody's fault but my own. Life still has an abundance of magic, I just tucked it away somewhere and can't remember how to unlock it. Well that is going to have to ch...

Today is Z's 47th Birthday... Can't help but remember it, and can't help but silently wish him a very happy birthday. Funny his birthday is totally on Father's Day this year... I bet his Family threw a humongous gala event... at any rate, Z, " Butterflies, Zebras and Moonbeams to you... even though I doubt you'll ever read this... so the world is always in Divine order. Also, Hope all of you Dad's had a wonderful Father's Day. This is ONLY for those people who have stepped up to the plate and taken care of their children, sacrificing and teaching by example, just what it means to be a Dad... because as the saying goes, "ANYBODY can be a Father, but it takes a special man to be a Dad." Fortunately, mine is both. Approximately 9:01 a.m. on a beautiful Monday morning (not all THAT long ago), the world became blessed with the light of one very special child. The Mother was ecstatic as this was the baby she had been praying for! She named her Jacqueline Dawn (although she nearly named her something else entirely, but wished to name her after her Dad). So it was on this day that she was born... The world did not know what a serious "Butt Whooping" it was about to get, and as well, the Guardian Angels did not know how hard their job was about to be! They have all done very well, however as she is still alive and kicking... Her Mom called this morning (very early) to tell her "Happy Birthday Dawn of the Morning!" Happy Birthday to Me! This is a song I like by the "Dixie Chicks" called "Voice Inside My Head"... I don't normally listen to very much country music but the lyrics of this song tell a neat story... They touched my heart. I hope you enjoy. My band's gig went well last night, still mostly people that I know came to see us, but a few stragglers came in. Our friend at the bar said he kept hearing really good comments about us, then he wished us luck at our June 22nd show at The Stage Stop. Kudzus is just a great down-home little place. Today I have to announce that I am an idiot for not putting a post up about my Sister's birthday yesterday... That's right! I forgot... I didn't forget her birthday, I had sent her a card and e-mails and told her Happy Birthday-I Love You over the phone and all that jazz, but I totally forgot her "Blog Tribute"... so here goes... better late than never.
