It's Life Or Death

Image
Dear Friends and Loved Ones, At first, today, I was driven on blogging about "love letter" in the spirit of NaBloPoMo, and in having some fun talking about the love letters that I have received in my life (which there weren't many), and then asking you all to share your favorite or most meaningful love letter(s) with me. However, I procrastinated (or actually was busy), so I waited until later to put my thoughts up for your perusal. It's uncanny that I did, as more things were brought to my attention today, things I was moved to share that might still merit love letters, or have a lot to do with love, as well as life, and death. These thoughts preoccupy us all at some point in our lives, thoughts about what we will do when we lose a love or loved one because of life changes, or lose someone because of death (even our pets, our very special loved ones). I have to pose a question, "Do you really ever lose someone?" My answer is "No.", yours might be ...

Key to Happiness

Image
{breezy sigh} Are you happy?? I pretty much think I am happy in my life, but sometimes things do get hectic or depressing for me and I can't help but stop and wonder briefly if I have made the right decisions... Especially when those closest to us make it very hard to hold on to our self-esteem, and make us feel like we just can't seem to do anything right. What is happiness anyway , and how does one go about achieving total personal satisfaction? Like with marriage (if you're married or have ever been married): Is your marriage perfect? Is any marriage perfect? Do/Did you fight? If so, is/was it about stupid stuff? Do you think it is normal, maybe even necessary that couples fight sometimes? But where do we draw the line? Does anyone have a real true-life fairy tale, or do those even really exist?? What is the secret to a good, "lasting" marriage?? Does everyone have a top-notch perfect sex life? What do you consider perfect in that respect? If anyone has any in...

Sand In A Box Makes Me Think

Chalice, over at 'Sand In A Box' has given me the 5 thought provoking questions that she promised, and I want to share my answers with you all... Hope this is good, and you enjoy and maybe glean something out of it. :) If you could have your choice of a dream job what would it be and why? I would say to be independently wealthy enough to not have to have a "profession". I would love to be able to spend my time working freely on web development work, maybe freelance and devote quality time to my music and get back to oil painting. I know we all have to "make a living" but all-too-often, we get too caught up in the professional day-to-day "J.O.B." and we don't devote enough time to sheer joy and ecstacy that we deserve in life. As yourself this question when you start to take things too seriously: "At the end of my life what would I regret more, not having "worked harder", or not having "enjoyed my family and my life" ...

All Signs Point To Yes

Image
I began my day with a bowl of cereal and a banana, waking up to what began a surprisingly easy-going start to my day. All of the lights eerily turned green, seemingly 'just for me', and all the roadways were unusually clear. Fate just seemed to be on my side! Not even one slow or 'tormenting' driver jumped in front of me. Struck me as a little 'too' nice almost. The radio programming was to my liking, there were no clueless first-time visitors to my garage to make the quest for parking impossible, and there is even the promise of a nice rain on the horizon. Then I cranked the day up a notch by checking out This Week In Pictures from MSNBC , pretty interesting. Basically, though, isn't it terrible that one might be inclined to sit back and appear cautiously skeptical when things go right? Shouldn't we be able to embrace a "good day" with open arms?? Why was I so taken by surprise by this? I know I tend to feel like I have 'not-so-great' ...
