Greetings from Sweet Sixteen

Image
Dear Me Living in 2016,  Felt some sort of an S.O.S. call, and it took me a minute to figure out which one of us was in need of our support. Turns out that it is you, so I hope this does not arrive to you too late. After realizing that our birthday was here (YESTERDAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME!!), it all came to me. Yes, I know that you probably don't think that your 16 year old self could be of much wisdom or assistance in crises of 'adult affairs', but I think you will remember that our highest self is pretty much one in the same, so while I might not yet know everything I need to know, I guess I am being used to convey what is needed (don't shoot the messenger)!!! (You love exclamation points, remember?) Okay, so I wasn't told the exact circumstances or events or dates of things that have happened in your life. I haven't been told "TMI" ha-ha!! (Too Much Information) because of the affect it might have on me, but I was just told you needed a word from...

Ride Into Spring

Image
T he weekend weather was just about perfect , all sunny, just a few illuminated clouds, temperatures in the mid-60s. I can't think of anything negative to say other than there was not enough of it as usual. Since the temperatures were so nice, I of course requested the escort of my esteemed bike, "Jimi", and we took a few scenic routes. Most of my readers have heard me mention before, but I will say once again that it was as if I cranked my bike, rode out off my street and went through a "Bob Ross Painting", out the other side and beyond. I describe it that way because when you're on the back of a bike, neck-deep in the serenity of well traveled back roads it seems sometimes that it's all done in oil on canvas, and that you can nearly see the brush stroke of God himself. At least that's how I see the beauty of the universe that surrounds me. Now that the winter is dripping from the rooftops and windshields of America, I thought to myself this morning...

It's My Birthday

Image
That's right, I'm doing a self-birthday post... I should've done it earlier, but I took the day off and slept late and still had to do things like laundry and the like but for the most part it has been a nice day. Why do your days off pass off so quickly though while work days seem to be a week long a piece?? That's so unfair. But right now, I'm just saying "Happy Birthday To Me!!!" Overlook the bleached out hair, please! Dad, Me and Mom on NWCC Grad Day. My Mom made me a delicious Mandarin Orange cake and gave me a very beautiful card, I'll probably scan it and share the verse with you. She's the sweetest most loving Mom in the whole wide world and I thank her and my Dad for seeing fit to bring me into this world. It's not their fault they were unaware of how rotten the world was and/or would become. But it's up to us to make our lives what we can, and be successful (by whatever means we measure success, and that doesn't have to be job...

Self Heroism

This note to attach to the other entry for today, I was just sitting here thinking about it. Do you ever just get bored and go back through your blog and admire your past entries and think, "Wow, this is a great post... I'm quite the writer!!" ??? ... Me neither... just checkin.

Demotivational

Image
You've seen those "demotivational posters"... I found one that described me pretty well. When you see something it takes me too long to do, a post, or something I say I am going to do and haven't done yet, just know that I honestly do mean what I say, my intentions are good. Things get hectic, I am unorganized, I am struggling to get to it all. Eventually, I do what I say I am going to do... 99.9 percent of the time. It just takes me a while with all the things that I have piled up in my procrastination. Makes me feel like shit honestly... I hate this about myself. The important thing to remember is I truly mean well... I just have a hard time. I try. :-\

Ten Guilty Pleasures

I figure I've been fixated on downers... depressing stuff lately, and I thought I would try to do something a little different. I haven't been tagged to do this, and it isn't a tag or "meme" (although I was tagged a few days back by Speedcat Hollydale , and just never had the chance to sit down and think it all out. Sorry Speedy! :( This title or idea I found while just browsing around a while back, and saved it as "ideas". I give you, on behalf of my ID, I suppose, even though it's not 'bizarro', 10 of my Guilty Pleasures (in no particular order). Guess we'll start at #10. Just Cuz. 10. R&B Slow Jams 9. Ice Cream 8. My Z Memories 7. Getting all 'made up' just to take Self-portraits 6. Flirting 5. Crystals and Healing Stones 4. Men, I just love em. 3. Blogging 2. Playing With My Husband's Hair 1. Just being lazy and sometimes doing absolutely nothing. Those were probably boring, but hey, I tried.....

Let's Have Coffee, It's Friday!

Image
Seriously, if you like coffee, and are not drinking a cup right now, then take a moment to brew a pot... Go ahead. Stop and get yourself some coffee. Then come back. If you don't like coffee, have water, soda (whatever you like). [pause] Alright then. Well, we've made it to Friday. It's been a better day today than the rest of the week, I feel my energy returning. I can't explain it, just haven't felt very energized at all this week, and my friend Kim stated there was some shifting in energy going on around us these days, so if anyone else has felt this way--It may be one of the reasons! But today, my calm and relaxation is coming back... I don't know why. Once again I have found that my horoscope for today was odd in retrospect... I don't know what's going on with that. But it's really weird: Explaining yourself to others isn't just a one-day event; you are interesting in being understood better by those close to you now. Unfortunately, it...

Seven Deadly Facts

Image
I got tagged on this meme a few days ago from Jay Cam (over at Jay's World) Thank you sir! Sorry I'm still running late ;) The Rules: (which were always made to be broken) -Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog. - Share 7 facts about yourself. - Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs. - Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. My 7 facts: 1. I've always been jealous of Left-Handed People! 2. I work regular day shift all through the week, then stay up mostly all night on weekends (hell on my sleep schedule). 3. I do my best writing (song and otherwise) when I 'channel' Jimi Hendrix ;) 4. I live in my own little fantasy world 90% of the time... lol 5. I would love to spend Christmas in NYC in the snow. 6. I remember numbers, even like my old Marine boyfriend's (the one I was engaged to at nineteen) Ssn. 7. Sometimes my "Id" beats the crap out...

Full Frontal Friday

Image
Well, I can think of no better day to do Blondie's Meme for me than on Full Frontal Friday. Especially because she was so excited about this new phenomenon that I put into action. So let me answer the "8 Facts About Me" (although I have done this before), and then I'll get to my very own FFF entry... Ok, here goes (copied Blondie's numbers). Also, I am not going to "Tag" anyone, because I know everyone gets tagged enough. You can do this though, if you like. One, Uno, 1, Un I'm an extreme procrastinator. I don't know where I get this from, but I would put off putting things off if I could only find a way. It does not enhance my life at all, but rather build up some stressful moments when I must make a deadline under pressure... luckily, I work well under pressure. Two, Dos, 2, Deux I was born with a broken collarbone, and so far I have not broken any other bones. I don't know how amazing this is, but to me it seems kind of lucky. Three, Tres...

Roads and Highways

Image
Yogi Berra once said, " When you arrive at a fork in the road, take it. " Looking back, I think I did a pretty good job of that. I never worried much over decisions, I always tended to follow my big giant heart. Sometimes it got me into trouble, or didn't end well, but for the most part, things always turned out alright. I'm still kicking, and I haven't gone off the deep end... not yet. Remember those books where you could choose 'what happens next' and it determined the way the story would end? I believe in destiny, and I believe that everything happens for a reason. However, I still think each decision we make is a part of the lessons we learn in the big scheme of things, and we shape these destiny's by the choices we make... Just like our very own book... We choose our circumstances, and we control how we deal with life; we write the ending. Thinking on some of these 'forks' I've encountered on my own personal highway, I pondered some ...

Too Many Spankings to Speak Of

Image
Approximately 9:01 a.m. on a beautiful Monday morning (not all THAT long ago), the world became blessed with the light of one very special child. The Mother was ecstatic as this was the baby she had been praying for! She named her Jacqueline Dawn (although she nearly named her something else entirely, but wished to name her after her Dad). So it was on this day that she was born... The world did not know what a serious "Butt Whooping" it was about to get, and as well, the Guardian Angels did not know how hard their job was about to be! They have all done very well, however as she is still alive and kicking... Her Mom called this morning (very early) to tell her "Happy Birthday Dawn of the Morning!" Happy Birthday to Me! Let's have a look back in history for the ever-changing, all-powerful Aunt Jackie: Here I am crushing my inchworm, circa (approx) 2.5 years old. 12th Birthday at McDonald's (I'm the one on the right of course, with the orange balloon) ...

Elvis Is Dead. I Don't Feel So Good Myself

Image
You guys really think you're something don't you? I mean you really have an ego, and it shows. Men have it made! You seem to handle aging much better than us... you know, 'the girls' . We don't really get this. Just about the only reason I can think of is that nobody makes you feel worthless if you aren't still '20something' anymore, or if you get gray hair (you get called suave and "distinguished"). Depending on your circumstances, people even look over your ample beer gut or your worst habits. Then there is the sexuality and fertility issue, you guys are made to feel like aging gives you more charming or virile qualities. You can also continue to father children as long as you're reasonably functional. We have an 'expiration date'. Although it is completely unfair, it's not an argument that's really worth tackling because I'm sure most of you would say... "Hey, it's just the way it is." Right? So be it. ...

Tag-Along With Me

First of all, here's my "Quote du Jour": Charles M. Schulz - "I have a new philosophy. I'm only going to dread one day at a time." Just because it's been a long week... now, that being said: ZigZagMan Zure Zapped Me Zagain with his "8 things"....tag. Let's see what I can do. First things first, here are the rules as they were posted to me.....so if you should be tagged as well, here are the guidlines...:) I have to post these rules before I give you the facts. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog. Zere Zew Zgo Zig!!! 1) Going to Karaoke is something I love, but nobody ever wants to do with me. 2) I get pretty ugly cases of Road Rage. ...

Ace of Spades

Image
Welcome to Saturday , my favorite day of the week. Who couldn't love it? Unless of course you have to work on Saturday. No harm in it-sometimes you have to-I've certainly done my time working weekends before. My Saturday has been quite nice so far-I didn't sleep overly late, woke up and gave my husband a facial, made turkey burgers with bleu cheese and am actually accomplishing a thing or two. What's that you say?? Go back-up to which part? Oh-the facial? No, no no!! You misunderstand. No he didn't give me a return facial-you dirty minded sons-abitches, I meant that literally!! ha-ha. Yes, a real facial. I started out with a nice moisturizing Aveeno soap he bought himself, followed by an Alpha-Hydroxy mask and then I applied moisturizing toner and then Aloe for a refreshing hydrating effect. Yes, my husband has his quirks, and I suppose I can only blame myself... He's spoiled to little things I do to pamper him. What's that you say? Do I make him wear dresse...

Butterflies and Zebras and Moonbeams - Part III

Image
It is suggested that Part I and Part II be read before reading the following, Part III. Read at your own risk. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "She's in Alabama for a teacher's conference for the weekend. I'm coming to pick you up. Baby is with my Mom, I have the whole night." His voice was deep and warm, and when he spoke to me I would forget the reality of our situation. Maybe I didn't want to realize it, maybe things were just too perfect and I couldn't give up this manically ecstatic feeling... it was what I had waited all my life to feel, I believed he was the one. I felt it in my soul. "O.k., I can't wait to see you." I replied. Restlessly I waited, shivering in anticipation of getting the entire night to be with him. I would not waste any of this time sleeping. I was a night owl anyway, and had always been able to hang with the best of them. "I'm in my brother's truck." he informs me. ...

Butterflies and Zebras and Moonbeams - Part II

Image
Butterflies and Zebras and Moonbeams - Part I should be read before continuing... The month was January, and it was quite cold outside. That night, however, it was extremely warm in my soul. I suppose I got some sleep. But Z wore heavily on my mind, and I could still feel him on my skin. I still felt dizzy from that first kiss, and I couldn't wait to get to work the next day. Would he still act the same? I sure hoped that nothing would be awkward between us. Finally, it was 2nd shift time again, and I was so ready to get there. Driving up, I looked for his car and tried to park somewhere in his vicinity. I was full of nervous energy as I walked in and ventured towards the time clock. "Get it together Jackie!" I think to myself, I had to relax and act cool. Everyone was working along just as normal, and I kept my eye peeled for him. I was once again making customer proofs when he found a perfect moment to approach me. We exchanged knowing glances, and smiled our secret sm...

Me Protests He Doth Think Too Much!

Image
I can count on my hand the number of times that I have won something in my life and it never ceases to shock me when I do... I just don't expect it, so it takes me by surprise (usually a good surprise). So yesterday, Rockdog bestowed upon me the honorable 'Thinking Blogger Award', as I proudly display there in my sidebar (just below vote and subscribe). Apparently, I flex his thought muscles... however, despite my titillating (although subtle at times) stories of debauchery and seduction, I merely manage to remind him of burnt biscuits. Gee thanks Rock! (I even threatened to tell the story of the time I gave a stripper on ecstasy a back massage... [to no avail] go figure) ;) So, If you'd like to read Rockdog's Thinking Blogger awards comments, click here . Usually, when these awards are given, one must choose 5 other bloggers to pass the honor along to... I am struggling with this and if I am to participate in the 'tagging', I will need more time to make my ...

Thursdays Need Love Too

I've been trying to get some things done today, but alas the temptation to slack has won again. Today is the next to the last day of the week, which happens to be tomorrow... I'm so glad. I'm merely sitting here wondering what I can get stirred up for the weekend. I feel rather mischievous, but don't know exactly what I want to do. Definitely, i'm going to visit Mom and Dad... not sure if I will do that Friday night or Saturday night though (I think it is essential that I enjoy a nice, quiet relaxing visit for my soul). It's an escape for me. Aside from that, it would be cool to have some sort of an adventure! Great visits that I had today were with Dan over at Dan's Blah Blah Blog , and we both discovered some very uncanny similarities in our personalities because of our 'Cancerian Heritage'. He shared some great photos with me from the many travels he and his wife Laura have experienced. It's very breathtaking some of the places they have been...

Subterranean Homesick Blues

Image
I'm feeling completely homesick today... I have old songs in my head, spring temperatures all around me and the smell of the warm summer grass beckoning me back home. I would like be sitting out in the middle of the pasture at Mom and Dad's house in my favorite spot there just where the pasture begins to go downhill-the best spot in the whole world, on a big fluffy homemade quilt, sketching or writing poetry, then lying back and watching the clouds roll over an azure blue sky... Just miss home so bad sometimes, miss my folks and miss pure, wild youth. Time is truly an overachiever... Yep, that's all I have to say today. Take it away Bob...
