Selfish

Image
This is a little technique I was fooling around with in Photoshop. (Click To Enlarge) Using some vector art, in this case, a little strip of "Skulls", and a photo of my face, I created this little "patterned" piece. It didn't turn out like I wanted yet, but then I am just kind of testing and getting ideas on different things I can do using this technique. So essentially, it is ME made of skulls... You can see around the edges the skulls and although it's not really "finished" I thought it was kinda cool. This is all I have for you today class, once you have studied it, you may go for the day. I will, however, be hitting you with a pop quiz between now and friday... Not sure what the topic will be lol!

Hero Sandwich

Image
I'm quite hungry and searched for a Hero Sandwich. This is what I found. She held out for a hero, this is what she got! If you click the photo, it will take you to the site of the photographer. Quite interesting works. Props to this Demetrie Kabbaz!

Black and Natural Life (WWC)

Image
Sorry for the delay, I am finally posting my WWC for this week, just haven't been able to get to it. Words "Black" and "Natural Life". Yes I really should be spanked for taking so long on this, it's appalling... anyone?? anyone?? Just kidding. :) The WWC as always is brought to us by the not-so-black, but always natural and worldly Tink of Pickled Beef (see her for details if you wanna join! ) Well I'm late enough already, let's get right down to binnesss. Pictured above, a Mother in The Natural World. Blue and Black Photo, Picturesque Scene In The Natural World Modern World Collides With The Natural World. The Soil Is Almost Black In This Part Of The Natural World. Club Scene Barely Illuminated by Light, Looks Almost Black. My Mom Is Most Happy and At Peace In The Natural World. So there you have it... finally! Now, I have to play catch up and get to a possible entry for today. Thanks for being patient with your Aunt Jackie... now, go play outside i...

You Say It's Your Birthday

Image
Dunn-na-na-na-na-na... It's my birthday too yeah! No, not really, but it is my big sister's birthday today... February 27th. She shared a birthday with Daddy's Mom. Some say if we were all together, my grandmother, Daddy, Vickie and Me we're all like peas in a pod. Well maybe not that much but you would know we were all kin. Vickie with "Boots", their old German Shepherd Vickie and Daddy Mom Curtis with one of her grandchildren, Pat. Anyways, I just wanna say, Happy Birthday Vickie Jean (and Mom Curtis too... and Hi Daddy!!).

2s and Expressive Faces (WWC)

In all honesty, I have not had any time the last few days to be creative and go capture any new images. So I am forced to revisit through my collection to bring new light to a few older photographs. I don't think that will be so bad. I really wish I had new ones, but I will have to do with what I have to work with. This week's Weekly Words Challenge (WWC) (as always brought to us by the ever-expressive Tink) words are "2" and "Expressive Faces". This would've been totally fun to dig into and go shoot new photos for but I must enjoy the old I suppose, as will you. Here we go... AJ Slideshow Time!

Death To Innocence (A Preamble)

Image
It's very hard to sum-up how I am feeling tonight. It's a strange melancholy. I am mixed up between getting the holiday spirit and thoughts of organizing my house and decorating with festive bells and whistles, and trying to shield myself from cold, hard realities. I would go into it right now if I could, but I really don't have all of the words to illustrate everything that's in my heart. However, I will forewarn you that the next few days, while I am trying to work it out, there may be some depressing, emotional posts. So if you don't want to get dragged under my painful current, then read with caution. Innocence is fleeting, I should've had a harder life to prepare me for some of the things that I am going to have to go through in these next years, but up until now, nothing has really 'stepped up' to play the part of the teacher, I guess you could say. For now, I go to gather my thoughts... and to prevent further 'rambling', I am just going to...

Perfect and Flawed (WWC)

Image
Happy Tuesday Kiddies! Holiday Season is upon us, so a great many of us are preparing ourselves for Thanksgiving this week here in the US of A. It's a Time of giving thanks and being thankful for everything we have, no matter how big or small. If you stop and look around, then you might realize most times that you have so much more than you thought you did, and there are so many people who have way less than you, but are twice as happy. Something to think about... But nobody is "perfect", we are all flawed so there is plenty of room to grow in our ways of thinking. Anyways, here is a brief little "Wikipedia" overview of Thanksgiving (USA). For the Canadian holiday, see Thanksgiving (Canada) . Baking Is Fun

Image
Yes, baking is fun unless it is baking in the oven of the devil's favorite kitchen, Memphis... And no, once again, this is not a post about a delicious, moist, fresh-from-the-oven, chocolate cupcake. Oooh, that looks good, doesn't it?? Yummy! Don't you want to go down to your local bakery and buy one, or go to the store and bake some delicious chocolaty cupcakes now? I sure do... but I doubt I will. ;) Baking in the heat lately is what most of us have been doing. It is no fun except when I am riding through the wind on my Shadow Sabre... that's good until I get stuck at a redlight. Then I have a virtual "meltdown". Oh well, this is a quicky of sorts today, and I know how all of my readers love quickies. Weekend Summary... Friday night was pretty laid back, I basically just fixed my face, put on my do-rag, and props and goofed off with a few Self portraits. Here are a couple, just so you can see what Tomfoolery I was up to... lol "Peacock Feather" ...

Seven and Earth (WWC)

Image
Ever wonder why in the world morning has to come so friggin early? I do... did this morning. I lay there comfy in my bed as long as I possibly could... and finally just had to peel myself out of the warm comfort into cold, cruel reality. Then I had to make oatmeal (as not to neglect Mr. J's breakfast needs, and my own too of course). Being in such a rush, I ate my oatmeal while soaking in my warm bath water, and it crossed my mind once again... "This, soaking in this warm soapy water, eating my oatmeal, is the MOST comfortable I am going to feel all day!" Anyone else?? Or is it just me? I know eating my oatmeal in the bathtub sounds way crazy, but I was really trying to save some time being in a rush. In the end, it did not matter, I was actually later than normal. (sigh). Oh well. Of course it is Tuesday and time for the Weekly Words Challenge (brought to us by the lovely Tink!) . This week's words are "Seven" and "Earth" . However, I am not goi...

Mark It Zero

Image
I feel pretty tired this morning for some reason, I did my weight lifting first thing, and I'm drinking my coffee, but I still feel unenergized, and exhausted. I don't know... it's strange. One of my all-time favorite movies in the world is "The Big Lebowski". It is hilarious and I just can't say enough about it... There is an infamous scene within the movie, however, where John Goodman's character (a Vietnam Vet) goes off his rocker in the bowling alley, and forces one of the other players to mark his score a zero, pulls out a gun and tells him "You're entering a world of pain." I'll share that video with you, but I also found this t-shirt that I would love to have!! It's great. (You can click the photo and it will take you to the site), and they have a lot more interesting t-shirts on there!!! Sometimes I wish I could give people the "Mark It Zero" treatment! Anyways, here's the video and if you haven't seen the ...

Weekly Words Challenge #21

Image
Well I made it (barely). Tink of Pickled beef says her suckiness prevailed? Nonsense. It is MY suckiness that prevails this week, as I really had a rough time finding things that inspired me for the words, "Narrow" and "Broad". I did the best I could, so here you go... Narrow: This rock path on the nature trail is narrow... Narrow street during road construction. Broad: I'm a Broad ;) Broad Street, literally. This section of downtown looks pretty broad. That's it for today, still playing a lot of catch up around work and we're also having a great deal of bad weather brewing today... Will see you tomorrow.
