Hot diggity dog! My easel arrived today, so when I got home I set it up and decided to do have myself a quicky... a quicky painting that is... I tossed off a little water scape. Keep in mind that it's not finished. I intend on doing more to it, but I thought I would share what I have so far... Hope you like it. Tomorrow, of course, is the weekly words challenge with Tweet-as-Tugar Tink of Pickled Beef (sorry Tink, I lost control for a moment). T is for Tink! Dear Tink : Please excuse Jackie for being late to the Weekly Words Challenge, she had explosive diarrhea. Sincerely, Jackie's Id Oh I'm joking... in no way did I have explosive diarrhea today, or any other type of diarrhea for that matter. I have always wanted to write an "excuse" like that, so I took my chance! The truth is, I had a long, busy day and I am covering applications while someone is out on vacation this week, and then we were back in recording with My Band, SAP tonight, so I haven't even had time to sit down and gather my thoughts!! My apologies for the late entry... as well, it's not going to be a very big one this week... still, I hope you enjoy. I picked up a brush yesterday for the first time in years (simply too long for any self respecting creative person to admit), and I dipped it in the oil paints and I slapped it around on the canvas. I know, I already know that this is shocking to anyone who is aware that I am an artist--well I don't consider myself an artist because I have neglected it so long... but I can paint, draw, whatever... so anyway, for those of you who knew this, please don't come to me with a "Well it's about time!! Didn't you buy those paints nearly 2 years ago??" I already know, and I feel stupid enough that I haven't painted in so long, so that's punishment enough for me. However, what I ended up painting looked like something that Satan puked up, and I am totally ashamed of it. No worries, I just need to find my bearings, and find myself once again... It will come. The important thing is I got it out and tried. I was going to post a photo of it (what I have so far), but ...

My drummer, Rob sent me this. It was totally amazing. At first, I had no idea what the guy was painting. I thought it looked like a dragon, or something. Then when I got to the end, I fell out of my seat. This is the sort of thing that makes me feel totally inadequate and talentless... I hope you enjoy it like I did. Seriously, you gotta watch it! Friday is here, and I am glad for that. I'm not going to think about how fast the weekend might pass, or what I might not get done this weekend, but rather think positively about the limitless possibilities that the hours ahead of me might hold. I'll still try to think of some great things I'd like to do before the weekend is through, and save my negative rants for Monday (where they belong). Fridays are for dreaming, and reminiscing, and fantasizing of things that make your spirit soar... so let's plan our [mental] escape, and start packing now. Take a hot air balloon ride over the fantasy place of your choice, or hope on a riverboat and see where it takes you. Today is all about you (me, you know--US!) So let's just milk it for all it's worth and enjoy! The weather is fine, and even though we're expecting rain tomorrow it would be a great day to take a long walk down by the river.
