The End Only Starts A New Beginning

Good day to you all, this is my very first post of 2008. I put up a small one of course on New Years Eve, just well wishes and all. Then I took yesterday off, went home to Mom's, and had the usual "Black Eyed Peas" for lunch which is supposed to be good luck and all... Food was good, and two other sisters showed up so we almost had a little family thing going on... Mom seemed happy to have some of her daughters together... Deb, the one who just had a birthday on 12/28 if you recall, she brought her dog "GT" with her. Jeanne, well being such a "Big E" fan, her English Bulldog is named "Elvis", so he was with her. I felt left out not bringing my Salvador Dali namesake!!! :) Anyways, I think maybe Tink (of Pickled Beef) had planned to do something similar with the WWC this week, and I'm not sure... So I will put my official entry in nonetheless. I didn't have time to give any thought to this week's words, "Brown" and ...

Lovely

Can't think of a better word for today than Lovely... It started off o.k., 2nd day in a row that Mr. J and I woke up and had our workout (not THAT you perverts! Went to the Gym!!). Then I was running fashionably late as usual, got behind every asshole that happened to be driving around this morning, and then hit a poor innocent bird with my car... I was changing lanes, he flew across, couldn't be helped... I was sad. But the rest of the day, I've felt light hearted and upbeat since I had lunch with my best buddy Tamra, and her daughter Jess... We don't get to lunch often, so we always enjoy the opportunity. Thanks again guys! Then I got back from lunch, and had the supreme pleasure a call from one of my favorite English blog family members, Four Dinners (and his sweet daughter, Jax) . They sounded so delightful, and we discussed all of the fun New Year's plans that everyone's got in store. I'm sure they got a giggle out of my accent as well. He just celebrat...

Back to Life, Back to Reality

Image
The labor after Labor Day is probably the most bitter dose, especially when you've taken a vacation from the entire rat race for 5 days. I've not been around really throughout my days off, as I elected to take a break from reality, blogging and anything serious for the whole duration of my time off. I needed it, seriously. I'm not going to apologize then, for my absence at any of the blogs, and if I have missed anything important... I had to get away... I'm back. I will do my best to catch up to you all soon. Hopefully, everyone had a good weekend. Those of us who were celebrating Labor Day, I trust you enjoyed a nice time whether you were cooking out, taking a trip somewhere fun, or just hiding out, like myself. Dad's birthday cook-out went very well Friday night. My family seemed to enjoy being together, and most of us were in attendance... which is rare and nice. I got a good many photos from it, but looking back I still didn't get enough, but it was hard to ...

Have A Heart

Image
News and such: My Friend Dinners is in the hospital, seems he's had a minor heart attack. Still, I'm concerned and I know he's been through the mill lately and also has been at it full-speed. 4D! You better recover, I'm thinking of you and your family... Don't you dare get ill on us!! We love our 'Dinners!! (More information is available on Cappy's Blog ). Thanks Cappy for the update! Everyone please say a prayer and send him your positive thoughts. Thanks for reading, as I always appreciate my blog visitors... new and old! If #1 doesn't work, then I must resort to #2... (no poop jokes please! Ok, go ahead!).

The Storm Continues

I had to throw in an extra post for rain stuff. This first one is totally dedicated to Four Dinners! , because I know he loves A Clockwork Orange , and who (like me) with a whacked out mind doesn't! So here you go 4-D, it's Singin In The Rain, From A Clockwork Orange . Enjoy! Then, I came up with a few more great songs that would make a great "rainy day" soundtrack. As follows: The Beatles - Rain Garbage - Only Happy When It Rains Creedence Clearwater Revival - Have you ever seen the rain? Led Zeppelin - The Rain Song Counting Crows, Rain King Ann Peebles - I Can't Stand The Rain Peter Gabriel - Red Rain Blind Melon - No Rain Guns N Roses - November Rain Milli Vanilli - Blame It On The Rain Phil Collins - I Wish It Would Rain Down Eurythmics - Here Comes The Rain Again SWV - Rain Missy Elliot - The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) Bob Dylan - A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall Bob Dylan - Buckets of Rain Prince - Purple Rain Some of them cheesy, but yes, they would still be good fo...

For Those About To Rock

Image
(We salute you!) Apparently, by authority of Her Indoors , I Rock! This is a great honor, and I express my sincere gratitude to you, as well as all of you who made this moment possible! It truly is rare that I win awards, or win much of anything for that matter, but occasionally, the stars align and I do. So, along with the honor of the "Rocking Blogger" award, I also get to award this to 5 more bloggers of my choosing... (which would include Her Indoors, if she hadn't already received this award). However, I couldn't narrow it down to 5 I had to cheat and do 6, and it's my award to give away, so I can do that! :) Congratulations (in no particular order) goes to: Jinks at Jinks Writes and Rewrites . Why? Because she has such an original outlook on life as well as sense of humor. Her blog reflects that. She is always very supportive of me and uplifting, and an all around great friend. So, Jinks, You Rock! Next, our Friendly Neighborhood Rockdog . Why? Of course f...
