Rain Down On Me

Image
It's been a lovely, delicious rainy day. I love storms, just so relaxing and sexy! Yes, I said storms are sexy... haha. I'm weird though. Anyways, a rainy day is just perfect for a good movie, and a great cup of hot cocoa... make me look forward to winter with great fervor. Today I saw this painting, which I thought might illustrate a cool rainy day well...

Stormy Weather

Image
Another bad storm is supposed to be happening today here in Memphis. As if the river wasn't flooded to the hilt already. The high winds, possible hail & thunderstorms, and maybe even tornado warnings... so if you're in an area that is affected by all the severe weather, then be as safe as possible. This will be short and sweet today, as I just don't have much of anything to say. Since we're still keeping with the NaBloPoMo April theme of "Letters", then I will just say that letters are even better when they're edible. Gummi letters... MMMMM!!! Have a tasty Thursday!

Were We Ever In Kansas?

Wow, last night's weather was a "doosie" around the Mid-South area. We had terrible thunderstorms (which I actually like thunderstorms), but this was no ordinary night. In addition to the Thunderstorms, we had lots of lightening, high winds and of course Tornadoes everywhere. You may have even heard about this... There was damage mainly to some shopping center areas, to include a Memphis mall called "Hickory Ridge Mall". I'm told that after the damage ensued there, the area broke out into a "Looting & Shooting" festival... Classy. Real Classy people... when you should be kissing the gods asses that you weren't blown away, you're off in the stores trying to steal everything not nailed down. You make Memphis look so nice. [ Meggy Moon had a few photos of the storm clouds ] As for me and my family, and most of the people I work closely or keep close touch with, they made it through with minimal stress or damage. Mr. J went home way early o...

Buckets of Rain

Image
Ahh it's thirsty Thursday, and it's been raining through the lunch hours here in Memphis. You all know how much I love rain (not flooding you understand, but a good soothing rain). Thrills me the way the droplets form on the windshield and then roll down, and I see many artistic things in that... just as when I stare at the clouds rolling by. Been like that since I was a child. So here is a photo I took of the windshield on my way back from lunch, cutting through a parking lot, long enough to photograph the rain through the glass, and after I took the photo I happened to notice I caught the McDonald's arches there in the storm... lol This photo I took with Barnze (Am Tellin Me Mam) in mind... he knows how I love the foot snapshots that he always includes when he and Mrs. B are out somewhere, so Cheers Barnze! Here's one for ya. I'm also going to let that foot snapshot be my entry for this week's "Half Nekkid Thursday" since my toes are Nekkid :D I kno...

Rainy Days and Mondays

Image
Mondays probably get most everyone down, unless that happens to be one of your days off... So of course, i'm understood there. However, as I have discussed before, rainy days do not get me down... I find them relaxing and renewing to my soul... rain and water involuntarily finds its way into the lyrics of many of my songs and words to alot of my poems... I favor rain just as I do trees. This morning, it looks like rain again... I sigh with satisfaction at the darkened sky and the fuzzy watercolor clouds above... the sunrise was pretty this morning, since the sun attempted to come by, it was kind of pinkish-purple on my way to my morning workout. Reminds me of morning times as my Mother would drive me to elementary school, in the rain... I'd watch the rain hitting the windshield, observing as the droplets would trickle down, sometimes joining one another and getting larger... and larger... then heavier until finally they would roll right out of sight. The soft scent of the mois...
