Hope yours was survivable. This Video ( ' Book of Love cover') is a repeat, but I like it. It's your present. Be grateful, listen, judge not, enjoy. For today, my Want is silence. Good night.

Crazy Little Thing

I'm not really sure how this post is going to go, it's just one of those things I feel frustrated about and am going to try to let it flow. So bear with me and forgive me, as I'm sure I'll be ripped a new one for my Hypocrisy. I know I am horrible for feeling this way. All of my life, I have pretty much loathed Valentine's Day. It's sickening flowers and hearts over commercialized and people going overboard, spending and gifting due to feeling either 'guilted into it', obligated or expected that they have to do this stuff. It's ridiculous. Why buy into this idea? Why can't we just be happy each day of the year, do special little things to for one another no matter if it is a special occasion or not? It seems to me that it would mean more if a significant other were to surprise you for no reason at all, unexpectedly, on a day in say April when nothing else is going on. They wouldn't do it to make up for something they'd done wrong, or beca...

Ahhh It's over with! The "V" word. It's a relief in a way. I mean, I guess I will come off hypocritical in this post because, I mean I did have a nice day yesterday and Richie got me a Vermont Teddy Bear and it was a surprise. All was well until the evening when Richie fell asleep way too early for any decent chance of Romance because he was all hopped up on cold medications and snoring like a freight train. All's well that ends well I suppose. I just still maintain that the day is what it is, and it takes advantage and over-commercializes. We will drop the subject though. Here is my Vermont Teddy Bear. Richie bought me the "Artist Bear", since I am deep-down, basically an artist... I just got misplaced in a technological world. Underneath this tech-savvy skin, and mean exterior, I am an oil-painting, moody, crazy-strange-creative slob. :) Thanks again "Bear" for the bear, I love it! And I Love you! (As My good friend Barnze always says, ...

How Do I Love Thee?

Image
Well, it's here. V-day! The world is still obsessed with it, (most) women expect or at least hope for some sugar-coated or diamond-studded representation of someone's affection, which is in-fact, meaningless. Because (most) men feel pressured, knowing that it is Valentine's Day and that they will be in trouble if they don't (pretend to) make a big deal out of the 'holiday'. We've all fallen victim to it at some point in our lives, because we thought we had to. The true fact is, when love is real, or you have love in your life, you don't need any sickening, fake-assed holiday to show it, the only thing that matters is what you're lucky to have in your day-to-day life. Every sweet moment, and even the bad times. If all that is what it should be, then nobody needs to "make anything up to anyone" on some fabricated excuse of a day for 'lovers'. Why would you want it if it was forced or expected anyway? Valentine's Day is just a comm...

Hearts, Flowers and All Things Sickening and Frilly

Ahhh... Love is in the air today eh? As for me, I've already explained that Valentine's Day is not my favorite holiday because it never was good for me, and I kind of gave up on the romance of it long ago, and the actions themselves are overrated and forced... Guys are usually under pressure thinking "If I don't get her something she's going to be pissed... I'll be in the doghouse." It doesn't mean much if you have to hint or to force someone's thoughts or actions... Mr. J is definitely no Peppy Le Pew, so If I am lucky I might get a note that reads somewhat like the following: That's fine with me though, we do things together and share fun, laughs and love enough every day that I don't need anything special to commemorate a marketing-scheme like Valentine's Day... If it isn't in his nature to do things like that, then I would never want to force the idea into his head because it wouldn't be genuine. My most sacred and sentiment...

The Sweetest Season

Saturdays are great, I should be getting something done, but I do so enjoy 'vegging out' sometimes... as with eating ice cream, however, I always feel like crap afterwards. Since it is so close to Valentine's Day (maybe one of the most sadistic holidays ever commemorated), I thought I would give you guys all a cavity with a story I wrote a couple years ago. Dig in! It's calorie free. "The Sweetest Season", originally written by Jacqueline Wood around Valentine's Day 2005 Winter being 'not quite over', but summer being so far away, things didn't seem very hopeful (as usual). It's not as if this year was any different than any other year. The halls were abuzz with laughter, chatter and romance was in the air. All of the girls and guys awaited the weekly school newspaper even more than ever this week because they knew that they would surely find a romantic dedication from 'that special love.' It was a magical time for any teenager… ...
