I Don't Like Mondays

You know the deal. Monday, you can play catch up, lots of content below if you haven't listened to yesterday's Mother's Day podcast, or want to read or search... go for it. Today is just "Monday". The Boomtown Rats with "I Don't Like Mondays"

Hello Monday, Are You Experienced?

Dear Jimi: This is a love letter as well as a 'thank you letter'. You already know how much I love you. Your spirit helps me through a lot. Your music lives on and on, and keeps us going one generation after the next. You are emotion through colors, through your notes and your melodies. You make love to us time and time again with your words and your song... I'm not the only one. Jimi, Mondays are hard enough and long enough without worrying over any stupid little details. When I begin to stress, I like to remind myself of your immortal words... "Ain't no use in gettin' uptight Just let it groove its own way..." Thanks for making Mondays bearable, and even better... thanks for your Spanish Castle Magic . I couldn't make it without that. As well, I think I will take you up on that Dragonfly ride now, so just come by whenever you can... Oh, and Jimi, just so you know, you are Bold As Love ... maybe even bolder . You never cease to Rock. Love Always, AJ...

Another Monday Slips Away

Are you wearing your green today?? It's St. Patty's Day, you need the Luck of the Irish. I've never quite understood that because I'm Irish (mostly), and I have usually had crappy luck. But don't let that stop YOU. If you're not wearing green today, consider yourself Pinched by your Aunt Jackie ;) Mondays can be frustrating, fuzzy and sometimes funny I guess. I just thought I would try to help make yours a little funnier. Here is something that mainly people who have been in Customer Support or Technical Support-type roles will totally understand: These calls usually come in on Mondays... Helpdesk: What kind of computer do you have? Customer: A white one... Customer: Hi, this is Celine. I can't get my diskette out. Helpdesk: Have you tried pushing the button? Customer: Yes, sure, it's really stuck. Helpdesk: That doesn't sound good; I'll make a note ." Customer: No ... wait a minute... I hadn't inserted it yet... it's still on my ...

Peaceful Easy Feeling

... I have not. (That's my best Yoda voice by the way). Feelings of things brewing, not necessarily bad, just a state of energetic unrest like things are happening. I don't know what yet, but we'll see as the week progresses. Other than that, I stayed up too late last night and couldn't get up early this morning like I had planned. Nobody's fault, just me. :) Now I went out to lunch in my car and I went down and parked by the River, I turned the music down kind of low and I relaxed and had my lunch, and the sun was beaming through the window, so I relaxed back in my seat a moment and closed my eyes and just tried to let the tension go. It was nice. I opened my eyes and there was a Mockingbird sitting on top of the little trash can next to where I parked and he sat there for the longest time staring at me... I wondered about him. Then I watched the lazy river roll by, and there were objects floating in it, like big limbs, bushes and debris (occasionally). I thought a...

Shiny Crappy Monday

I know, I know, it seems like next weekend is very far away right about now. But take heart, it will get here before you know it. Our weekend was pretty busy, just with family stuff and unexpected house guests. Took some good photos of my Mom yesterday. She posed for me in her new suit, and looked perfect and angelic as always. I think I will have them printed for her, she always likes that. Also, took some self-portraits and I added a new one to my profile. I wasn't looking my best, but I was just goofing around and decided to throw a few of myself in, since I take after my Dad (he always took self portraits too). Went over to Xanadu Book Store the other day, as they have not only books but music equipment. Mr. J was looking at some of the music equipment, and I began browsing the books. Of course I couldn't walk away empty handed. I held two books in my hands. The first one was "On The Road" written by Jack Kerouac . The other was Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Go...

Shiny Happy Monday

Just skittering about today, I have been pretty busy but I still had time to come in and say Hi-ya to all of you guys. The weekend was pretty nice and all, I did not get a whole lot accomplished, but on the flip side I didn't get into a big guilt trip about it either... I just rolled with the flow. Glad you all liked my photos from the Historic Elmwood Cemetery , I enjoyed my photo-visit there and plan on going back soon... If you want to check it out, the link takes you to their main page, and you can read about it. Maybe even visit it if you ever pop through Memphis (after your maniacally entertaining visit to Graceland of course *rolls eyes*). Oh sweet Jesus!! I almost forgot that Tomorrow is Tuesday, and nearly time for me to submit my photo for the (WWC) "Weekly Word Challenge" brought to us by the wonderful Tink, of Pickled Beef . This week's selection is themed with the words "Urban" and "Country". Wish me luck!! I have nothing very enterta...

Mondays are Funky

Image
Mondays are good, AND bad... I know they get a bad rep because mostly they loom over us like some blood-sucking, brain-eating zombie creature... but they don't have to be all bad. I've had a couple cups of coffee and I'm seeing things through caffeine-goggles... hey man, whatever it takes. Started the day off with the Engine light coming on in my car, so after sorrowfully parting with $50 dollars for 'diagnostic services' to ensure that I wasn't about to have to overhaul the engine, I found out that it was just a loose hose... that's nice. That could have gone towards a tank and 1/2 of gasoline, or a few groceries, but Mr. Mechanic, I ain't mad atcha. Following in with Mr. J about 2 weeks late (due to my lack of motivation and my weak willpower) in eating close to The Anabolic Diet , but I will be making some adjustments to that plan as a female. Also, we won't be eating high-fat meats and stuff, we'll be ingesting healthy "GOOD" fats, ...

Blue Moan On Monday

Image
How about that Full Moon last night?? OOoooohhhhh God it's Monday again!! (Ok, that is my official moan). Looking back, I felt quite more enthusiastic last Monday, but don't worry. My spirits are not dampened! If you are reading this, then I trust you have made it through to another one unscathed as well... or at least I hope so. I have a couple things for today, one is the song that I have been stuck on since yesterday. Now please don't make fun-I know that some people love Rod Stewart, and some may hate him. I'm neither here nor there, but yesterday afternoon, I began playing the song "You Wear It Well" over and over until I could sing the lyrics to this song perfectly. I don't know why this tune struck my fancy, it just did. I was even thinking it would be cool to do a cover of it. Unfortunately, Rod doesn't wear it well. Secondly, I am curious about something. In your work place restroom, do you have a "Favorite" stall? If so, will you ...

What A Trip!!!

This is my Monday morning gift to you. Kind of funny, I thought you'd get a kick out of it. First of all, go to Google Maps, and go to 'Get Directions'. Type in "New York" for the first blank, and type in "Paris" for the 2nd (or the destination). Then Click "Get Directions" --OR (for the lazy)-- Here is a Direct Link for Directions from New York to Paris, Click It! Pay special attention to Line #23 in the written directions (gotta make sure you're in shape for that one!)

The Monday Junk

Image
Come Mondays, everyone wishes they were doing just what Mr. J is doing here in this little photo, eh? This was a snapshot of my guy slurping up the suds on New Year's Eve... ahhh he loves his brew! I'll put him in a drinking contest one of these days with Barnze, Cappy and Drunk Punk and see who comes out on top! That would be a sight wouldn't it?? At any rate, I'd like to thank everyone for such warm wishes on my upcoming tooth trauma, which will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. CST (U.S.A.) if you wanna think a positive thought for me at that moment. Looking forward to getting that over with! After the whole Root canal, I get a crown and all that... guess it will look like it never happened... hopefully. On to other matters... we had four more songs mastered up over at Sun Studio this past Saturday, of course I stayed home and moped since I wasn't feeling well but Rob the Drummer says that they all turned out top notch. Will hear them tonight when I get to band practice....

The Mean Monday Cloud

Image
I've had a cloudy head today , just a tiny headache really, maybe some caffeine will rid me of that... a bit later. Do you ever just feel like your head is spinning from so much to think and do? Probably all part of my self-diagnosed A.D.D., but I just can't seem to concentrate much on the things I need to do most. Feels like the world is on 'high-spin' cycle and I need it to slow down just enough for me to bail. That's right, jump off and take a backseat so I can watch from afar for a while. The hustle and bustle never looks as exasperating that way. If you've ever been extremely far up in the floors of a tall building, or atop a large structure, looking down and observing as the rest of the world goes about their business, it's a peaceful feeling... like you're removed from it... sort of. Like the part of Ferris Bueller's Day Off , where they're looking down on the city from a window of a skyscraper, stating that the city looks so peaceful from...

Monday's Musical Challenge

Image
It's Monday, so I thought i'd bring you something to take your mind off of it. A puzzle... a challenge, whatever, maybe you'll like it. Maybe you'll do better so far than me. Now, you should click and enlarge the thing so you can see more detail. This is kinda tough, I know a few of the bands are in your face and really easy but some I can't do... My friend Jessie sent it to me, and I know it's been floating around so if it's overload, sorry, but I thought it might be a good Monday time-waster. If you can find them, there are supposed to be 74 bands in this pic... See what you can find. Good Luck, Happy Monday and Happy Hunting!

Rainy Days and Mondays

Image
Mondays probably get most everyone down, unless that happens to be one of your days off... So of course, i'm understood there. However, as I have discussed before, rainy days do not get me down... I find them relaxing and renewing to my soul... rain and water involuntarily finds its way into the lyrics of many of my songs and words to alot of my poems... I favor rain just as I do trees. This morning, it looks like rain again... I sigh with satisfaction at the darkened sky and the fuzzy watercolor clouds above... the sunrise was pretty this morning, since the sun attempted to come by, it was kind of pinkish-purple on my way to my morning workout. Reminds me of morning times as my Mother would drive me to elementary school, in the rain... I'd watch the rain hitting the windshield, observing as the droplets would trickle down, sometimes joining one another and getting larger... and larger... then heavier until finally they would roll right out of sight. The soft scent of the mois...
