Kentucky Rain and Other Pain

I thought aside from my WWC photos the other day, I might share with you the other few photos I captured, which were nothing to write home about but at least some documentation of the trip. I'll get to those in a minute... first I'll blog. Well it is the first of October... my favorite month of the year! It denotes fall, which is officially here, but not quite painted up in all its glory just yet. I love the colors of fall. There's just something magical in the crisp cool air that breathes new life into our tired souls (mine anyway). Yes, 2009 has been a rough year for so many of us. More trials, more lessons and if you are reading this then you are winning. You are still here, and you still have another day and another chance to do something that makes a difference... whatever that may be for you. We have a tendency to get so caught up in what is wrong in OUR lives, and what WE don't have, or for the shiny bauble that we can't seem to afford that we forget there ar...

G On This Day (WWC)

It is that time again, the Weekly Words Challenge (courtesy, Tink!) . I ducked out of the running last week when our words were "M" and "Jump". I said I'd make it up this week, and I am. I don't have any "Jump" pics, but I threw in a couple M's... or three. This week's words, however, are "G" and "On This Day". Once again, I've made up a convenient delicious Slideshow , so feel free to click if you have problems with the one I have embedded... Here goes. Have a productive and magical Tuesday. I'll be around to everyone shortly, but don't let that stop you from commenting NOW :) I will pay back I promise. xoxo

Best of 2008 (WWC)

The First Weekly Words Challenge (WWC) brought to us by the lovely still newlywed "Tink" of Pickled Beef is here. Our first theme is the Best of 2008 . In essence, our favorite photos of 2008 (not necessarily used before in a WWC, but taken by us basically). Better late, than never: I had a hard time today because it was a busy day for one, and also my Father had a hard night last night, so we weren't sure this morning if he was going to get better, but it seems it was not as bad as we thought... so he is still hanging in there. For now. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and love. So 2008 was a rough year, yes. But we had many good memories too. When you go back and look at your photos, you can see that clearly. Even in the midst of trouble, we make memories some good some bad. Never all bad. Let me bring you my personal storyline, my 2008 In Pictures Slideshow . Let's make new and lovely memories every day ... always! (Captions as always, tell AJ's story). En...

Safe and Danger (WWC)

Jaxxx is back with Slideshow City for this week's WWC... (brought to us as always by the lovely and mucho talented, as well as sometimes dangerous Tink of Pickled Beef .) I must make a quick notation that the first two photos are not mine, I swiped them from images, but I thought they were cute and wanted to use them to illustrate this week's words, which are "Safe" and "Dangerous". Here we go! Enjoy. Oh yes darlings, if you can't view the slideshow for any reason, Click Here To View . Tuesday's gone with the Wind (and more rain I guess), so I will see you all tomorrow!

After the Fall

Oh I have not been in the best of spirits last night nor this morning, a melancholy seems to have set in. I don't know exactly why. Partially, it was our snow flying in and out so quickly, not staying nearly long enough. Then I've just been thinking on family, and missing old times with them again. The Daylight Savings Time phenomenon sucks big time, and screwed me up some. So Monday morning broke in like a burglar stealing my peace of mind. Went to work out, and that went o.k., but then I got back and had like barely enough time to throw together and get back to work. So there I am, eating oatmeal in the bathtub, feeling like shit and wishing it was still Friday. The normal amount of assholes were out and about on the roads this morning, so I had my share of little road rages. Got to work, and felt so totally unproductive to say the least. I managed to accomplish on thing, then I ran out to lunch (my the day passes quickly), and I decided I needed to run home on my lunch brea...

The End Only Starts A New Beginning

Good day to you all, this is my very first post of 2008. I put up a small one of course on New Years Eve, just well wishes and all. Then I took yesterday off, went home to Mom's, and had the usual "Black Eyed Peas" for lunch which is supposed to be good luck and all... Food was good, and two other sisters showed up so we almost had a little family thing going on... Mom seemed happy to have some of her daughters together... Deb, the one who just had a birthday on 12/28 if you recall, she brought her dog "GT" with her. Jeanne, well being such a "Big E" fan, her English Bulldog is named "Elvis", so he was with her. I felt left out not bringing my Salvador Dali namesake!!! :) Anyways, I think maybe Tink (of Pickled Beef) had planned to do something similar with the WWC this week, and I'm not sure... So I will put my official entry in nonetheless. I didn't have time to give any thought to this week's words, "Brown" and ...
