Circle Of Friends

So it seems that every day people new and people old weave themselves in and out of my life, leaving me wrapped up in the web that they have weaved about me and dulling my senses. I can only walk moment to moment and search the shadows, in which I have always hidden so that I may find myself and take me home. AJ

The Jagger Edge

First of all, I forgot my deodorant this morning... I just realized it when I raised my arms to stretch. So much for smelling sexy today. I've just had so many things on the brain lately, stress type stuff about Mom, worrying about her emotional state after all she's been through with Dad, and band-related stuff to boot. For one, you know how easy it is to get the wrong idea, or misunderstandings in e-mails? Well, I guess it was Friday and we had a sort of 3 way e-mail going on between my husband, my drummer and myself. The discussion was about how crappy Memphis was, and just how we had entertained thoughts of how cool it would be to live elsewhere (like NYC or something) one day. It wasn't anything definite, and it wasn't meant as a "Hey man, we're going to pack our belongings and take the first train outta here". Just general discussion. Well for some reason, he evidently took it to heart way more than we meant it, and freaked out a little. I won't ...

Today is OK

It's... you guessed it: My Wednesday Post. Today is just "ok". I'm not fueled up about anything in particular, although I'm sweaty from walking at lunchtime, and the bottoms of my feet are slightly sore because we did all that walking when I was only wearing flip-flops. Flip flops don't travel well on the cobble stone of Main street... but that's "ok". It's Wednesday and "Things" are "Ok". We started out heading South on Main with full intentions of hitting up The Arcade Restaurant , Memphis' Oldest Cafe (1919). It's down in the South Main district downtown, and can boast involvement in some movie filming, and patronage from many celebs, having served the likes of Cybill Shepherd, Robert Duvall, Dennis Quaid, Susan Sarandon, Rufus Thomas, Elvis and his buddies, and many others, as well. If you're ever in Memphis, and you have the time, I highly suggest popping in, even if just for the history and the memorabili...

Dream A Little Dream Of Z

Image
As I have been working a lot on dreams and trying to improve my dream recall, and so forth, I have experienced some progress. I actually have a slight headache since this afternoon though and I am wondering if it has something to do with any of that. Earlier, I spoke about my (I'll call it Dream Meeting) with Z. It is most amazing in the fact that I very RARELY have dreams about Z, even though I think of him often, etc. I am not sure where we were supposed to be, but we were mainly sitting together. It was just a very 'close spiritual' feeling of being near each other, and I don't know what it was all about but it was so sweet and relaxing being able to sit there face-to-face... (I'm thinking my headache might be because I have been working with my Moldavite and crystal for a few days in sleep... It's supposed to be a pretty strong one... and helps with astral travel and communications, so maybe it's working.) Anyway, in the dream, I felt like we were 'v...

Toilet Humor and TGIF

Image
Well we have almost won the war with the week... (lots of W's huh). Things have been a little better each day this week, but it has still seemed like an extra-long hellish week to me... I've felt worn out. I'm glad it's nearly Friday. This week's Weirdness story, which I put up for WTF Friday , is a very freakish story, one of the most senseless and weird I've heard in a while, the Women who spent two years on her boyfriend's toilet, and became fused to the toilet seat . Very interesting, read it there or go over to WTF Friday and read that and more great oddities from all my buddies. People are nuts I tell you and you never know when they (or you yourself) might snap. Getting stuck to a toilet is only dangerous to oneself but still, something had to be horribly wrong with the lady. And ALSO, my legs go to sleep if I sit on one for more than 10 minutes (which would only happen if I were into a very interesting article, or playing Traffic Mayhem on my cellph...

That Thing You Do

Image
Anyone else ever feel like some phenomenon "Stalks" them from time-to-time? For me, it has long been The King of Rock and Roll, a.k.a. "Big E", that's right... Elvis. I started to notice it one day when I was driving peacefully down the interstate when I looked over and saw a humongous, hulking Elvis-face billboard glaring at me. Although slightly dizzied, and taken aback, I continued my safe driving. Then I went into a music store, and saw even more Elvis faces looking at me slyly with that crooked grin. "WTF?!?" I thought... "What's with this? Why am I seeing him everywhere I go?" It never seemed to let up (and I'm not even "into" Elvis!) My best friend, Tamra and I (and I think I've mentioned this before) began noticing that he was increasingly everywhere! Shopping in the store, he was on a box of candy. Shopping for clothing, he was on T-shirts and souvenirs. Magazines, Books, Calendars, Wall Hangings, of course CDs ...

Nineteen Eightees Child

In the spirit of Nostalgia, this was fun... Do you remember [the 80s]??? Here's a blast from the past. Happy Friday all of my wonderful Friends...
