Xs and Os

It's been a strange week so far, and it's only Monday. We're in our new office, and settling in o.k., It's actually not as bad as we were all thinking. I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm almost liking it. Changes, everywhere. Guess it's just all part of the new chapters. Funny to me how things just go round' and round' in circles. I got a message recently from an x-bf's (then gf) now-x-wife. At first, I was scared to open it. I thought maybe I was getting some sort of cuss out, again. But there was no reason why. I suppose I was just shocked to hear from her. Turns out that things in their lives have changed equally as much as they have in mine. A lot of eye opening stuff, things that are just hard to realize I guess. But in a way, it makes me smile that the two of us can chat amicable after our so-sour early beginnings. But we were all so young back then. Anyway, just puts me in a deep thought region for the week... guess I am in for more ...

Cold Day In July

Image
Here around Memphis, you're not likely to find the words 'Cold' and 'July' spoken in the same sentence. I was up way too late last night (but strangely, up earlier than I was even yesterday); when I was just about to go to bed, I looked at the computer clock and actually got a shock when I saw "July 1". I mean, how did it slip up on us this fast?? Entirely HALF of the year, evaporated before our eyes. I haven't had a chance to write as much as I wanted to over the weekend, but things just happen I guess, and time flies. I often wonder how "accomplished" everyone else feels. Do you feel like you are able to get things done in your spare time, you know? Make them most of time off, or your weekends?? Usually, I start the week on Monday feeling like I haven't done anything worth anything... Someone give me lessons!! Recently, on MySpace , I've talked a bit about music with a very talented former classmate of mine, who's music I found ...

Here's To "Auld Lang Syne"

Image
Yes, probably one of the most worn out songs in history, "Auld Lang Syne". But it's traditionally used to mark the end of each year as the old blows out with the wind and the new rushes in. So, if you don't know what it means, The song's name is in Scots , and may be translated literally as 'old long since', or more idiomatically 'long ago', or 'days gone by'. Click here to learn more about 'Auld Lang Syne'. So today, the year comes to a close and I wanted to wish each and everyone that stops by my 'Forrest' and says hello and shares a kind word, a safe, wonderful, prosperous and happy new year. As the song quips... "And there’s a hand my trusty friend ! And give us a hand o’ thine ! And we’ll take a right good-will draught , for auld lang syne." May old aquaintances never be forgotten, and new ones be around long enough to become old ones... Have a safe and happy one everyone. Best Wishes from Aunt Jacki...
