Even when I ramble on, I guess it's just a bunch of "Malarkey" as my Dad always called it. So many zany and interesting thoughts pass through my skull on a daily basis, and I forget to write all of them down. Maybe I should start to carry that little digital recorder around with me everywhere so I can capture each and every little and genius and amazing notion. But now I will just ramble a bit and see what comes. My kickboxing class fell through today since the teacher wasn't feeling that well and the other ladies in class had things going on. I was the only one who showed up today, and since it seems like we all had a rough go starting the week, I bowed out and gave Mrs. F an R&R day. I figured I could use the extra day to recharge my batteries too. I think we'll all feel a little better Friday, and maybe everyone will be there. So I went back home, and Richie (who is slightly ailing from an Arm Bar by his instructor), and I went to our favorite little Mexic...

A lthough Memphis is well known for its great musical history and talent, the city is not devoid of its political history, or dark times. The south itself carries a reputation for racial strife, and in some parts of the south it still runs high. But make no assumptions, whether you know it or not, racial tension is not just in the south alone... it can be witnessed in many other places in this world. At any rate, as I mentioned in my other post below, today, April 4th is Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial day. I was not around when Dr. King was killed, of course, but its effects are still all around me, in song and in remembrances of our city and its vast history. I Invite You To Read Jink's post for today, entitled "Who Can Handle The Truth?" , which shows us Dr. King's death among other political events at the time through the eyes of one 11 year old girl. I found it to be very moving, as I think you will too. It all makes you think... and wonder... what IS the truth?...

We're all feeling it, right? Getting back to reality and still feeling lagged after the holidays, some of us, like me, not feeling so hot. Lots of people have been sick lately. I'm still trying to catch my second wind, and have battled some sinus pains with our weather fluctuations, seems everyone stays ill around here... Lovely, lovely Memphis. It's dangerous out there, everywhere, so no matter what neighborhood you're passin through, be careful and show em who's boss! After all of the regurgitation of holiday muck, how could anybody even think about 'how many days until Christmas'? But some evil thing made me look. So I can now tell you that as I write this, there are 355 days until Christmas. { sigh... deep breath } Ok, enough's enough right? :) We're all in it together with high hopes of this year being far greater than the last year.
