Soothe Me

It's not exactly sunny around here today, and it's not exactly raining either. However, since I am a fan of rain sounds as well as relaxation and meditation, I thought I would share this. Do yourself a favor and take 6 1/2 minutes to just soothe your soul. Bet it helps (either that or makes you need to pee). Just try it. Close your eyes and listen. Click Here If Video Doesn't Load More later when I, myself feel more relaxed. :)

Song Of The Rain

Image
It is so easy, it seems, to hate the bad weather, thunderstorms, rainy days. But for me, there has always been something about the storms that calmed and relaxed my inner beast. Think of it, the rain cleanses our souls and cools the burn of the hot sun. The lightening reminds us that there are things out there way more amazing and powerful than us, keeping our egos in check, and the thunder, well it sings us to sleep. I remember even back to rainy days, Mom driving me to Elementary School, and I got such a cozy, relaxed feeling. The classroom was darker, calmer. I could look out and see the rain drizzling against the windows... deep sighs of tranquility . Rainbows Are Worth The Wait! Yeah, the rain cleanses... it heals. It gives us a dark before the dawn. Without our "storms", we could never truly appreciate the "beautiful" ones. Have you ever payed attention, actually 'seen' a vivid sunrise after a good heavy rain? It's like a blinding vision of Heaven...

Rain Down On Me

My weekend in just a few words... Rain. Soothing Rain. Riding My Motorcycle In Rain. Home. A Visit With Mom Made Soup. Felt stressed lately and maybe haven't had the pleasure of a rainstorm?? Close your eyes and spend 10 minutes here .

Anonymous Anonymore

Anonymous commenting has been disabled. I'm sorry about that, I appreciate those of you who comment, even if you were anonymous but left a name and all, I know this will probably keep you guys from leaving me a comment, but I just got tired of the "anonymous" anonymouses. I appreciate everyone's visits, but it does you no harm to leave a nickname, or blog identity, if you have something to say, say it. I prefer to know who leaves the comments, that's all. So it will let you sign into your Google/Blogger account, or Open ID, which I think includes Wordpress, Typepad, LiveJournal or even AIM accounts. That should cover most everybody. Today is WWC day, but the Veteran's Day holiday threw me off... I'm going to do my best to get my entry up tomorrow. In other news, I'm reading "Hearts In Atlantis" by Stephen King, and am really liking it so far. I have watched the movie before, so I tend to have those characters in my head when reading the story...

Dreary Weekend Dreams

Image
The rain has kind of stuck around, I guess we're getting showers from Hurricane Fay . So we haven't seen a really "clear" day most of the week. I like my rain and all, but I've just felt quite listless and mundane through the course of the whole week. Maybe it will switch up soon... I sure hope. At any rate, I'm sure you've all seen This Video Of The Idiot Kitesurfer who got slammed into the building by Fay. Just kind of shows me that idiots are still breeding, and that they need to be sterilized to stop the spread... Humans via evolution, should be advancing right?? Well so many people make a stiff argument for stupid. So I just don't know if we're making much progress. I know this is tragic and all, but please... is it so hard to use your brain these days?? They say we use only 10%, right? I think alot of people don't even come close to that. This is probably old news for most of us, but I'm a bit behind this week because I just haven...

I Like My Coffee (WWC)

Image
"I Like My Coffee like I Like My Photographs... Black and Strange!!!" ha-ha! I bet you thought I was going somewhere else with that, right? :) Well it's time again for our photo-funtastic Weekly Words Challenge, brought to us by the Wonderfully Strange, but not black Tink of Pickled Beef . This weeks words (if you haven't guessed already) are "Strange" and "Black". Since I'm too lazy and don't feel like re-ordering the photos, I'm going to start mine off with... Black: Was in the mood for a little black-n-white photography today, and it is strange that I felt like going to the graveyard on such a dreary, stormy day. My strange cat, Rodney here posing for the camera, looking quite reflective in B&W. A little fun with a more high-contrast b&w photo Good contrast here on yet another photo from the cemetery. We have this black building downtown, I dug this out of my fall photos because I liked the yellow tree against the black o...

Buckets of Rain

Image
Ahh it's thirsty Thursday, and it's been raining through the lunch hours here in Memphis. You all know how much I love rain (not flooding you understand, but a good soothing rain). Thrills me the way the droplets form on the windshield and then roll down, and I see many artistic things in that... just as when I stare at the clouds rolling by. Been like that since I was a child. So here is a photo I took of the windshield on my way back from lunch, cutting through a parking lot, long enough to photograph the rain through the glass, and after I took the photo I happened to notice I caught the McDonald's arches there in the storm... lol This photo I took with Barnze (Am Tellin Me Mam) in mind... he knows how I love the foot snapshots that he always includes when he and Mrs. B are out somewhere, so Cheers Barnze! Here's one for ya. I'm also going to let that foot snapshot be my entry for this week's "Half Nekkid Thursday" since my toes are Nekkid :D I kno...

Rainy Days and Mondays

Image
Mondays probably get most everyone down, unless that happens to be one of your days off... So of course, i'm understood there. However, as I have discussed before, rainy days do not get me down... I find them relaxing and renewing to my soul... rain and water involuntarily finds its way into the lyrics of many of my songs and words to alot of my poems... I favor rain just as I do trees. This morning, it looks like rain again... I sigh with satisfaction at the darkened sky and the fuzzy watercolor clouds above... the sunrise was pretty this morning, since the sun attempted to come by, it was kind of pinkish-purple on my way to my morning workout. Reminds me of morning times as my Mother would drive me to elementary school, in the rain... I'd watch the rain hitting the windshield, observing as the droplets would trickle down, sometimes joining one another and getting larger... and larger... then heavier until finally they would roll right out of sight. The soft scent of the mois...
