June Bugs

In an effort to glean a bit of inspiration for June, I filtered through some of my past writings, I have had quite a few poetic moments on this blog. I realize how badly my posts as of late surely pale in comparison. Believe me, some of my thoughts and moments could compete, but I can't publish it all. You will simply have to wait for my autobiography to be published. :) This year is definitely zooming by, I feel like we just got through New Year's and already six months have evaporated before our very eyes. It has been an emotionally up and down time, sometimes I feel like I'm just floating helplessly in a creaky little boat on a stormy sea, but I'm hanging on to the boat, not the shore, popping my Dramamine and doing my best to ride the waves. Everything comes gradually at its appointed hour, there's a bigger picture and plan. So, we keep on rolling along. Shouts out today to Richie , it's his birthday and I hope he has a good one, still do my best to be a goo...

Hero Sandwich

Image
I'm quite hungry and searched for a Hero Sandwich. This is what I found. She held out for a hero, this is what she got! If you click the photo, it will take you to the site of the photographer. Quite interesting works. Props to this Demetrie Kabbaz!

Richer Than Rich

June is officially here! As I mentioned before, I am going to give the 'daily blogging' phenomenon a try for this month since it is a special month, and I occasionally like to participate in NaBloPoMo when I feel like I might be able to swing it. Although it is easy to find something to complain about every day, it's challenging but rewarding to find positive things to write about. June's "theme" is HEROES . I think I can get creative with that subject. Now regarding luck and privilege? It's ridiculous to think by any means that I am unlucky or unfortunate when I have so many things and people in my life to be thankful for. Today is a day to honor one of my favorite heroes, my husband Rich. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. J! 'What kind of hero is he?' you might wonder? Well multiple things put him on my list of heroes. He is a guitar hero (real-life, not in video game version), he overcame many things having grown up in circumstances that might predispose oth...

The Animal In Me

Image
I just love animals, they are so sweet, so cute... I am big into cats and birds in particular, but love em all big and small. If you remember, I found a dancing bird called "Snowball", and he was really cool dancing to the likes of "Another One Bites The Dust" and lots more... but I ran across this bird named "Frostie" who gave me a giggle also. He likes "Ray Charles" evidently... lol This weekend I've seen some really good ones. I met one older couple who had a gargantuan "Rhodesian Ridgeback" dog, boy was he horse-like. He nearly dragged everyone that tried to lead him. But he was a sweet, big huge baby! Then today, I saw baby kittens over at Big Tracy's house. They were so sweet and adorable. Being spring, there have been lots of baby animals everywhere, baby cows, baby horses, kittens, birdies. Then of course, I get to see my own two magnificent animals (Rodney and Sal). They make my day. Animals just love you no matter wha...

Weekend Wood

Waking up on Saturday is always the climax of the week, no matter what you've had going on it feels great when you sleep late, and then know you don't have to go anywhere or do anything if you don't want to... That's exactly what I did yesterday. Once I woke up, I did a few things, watched a little T.V., and fell back asleep for about a 2 hour afternoon doze-fest! When I woke up, it was time to get ready for band practice... We hadn't practiced Thursday night, which is our normal night, but we wanted to work on a few specific songs for our set, so as a band we went out to eat at The Bar-B-Q Shop in Midtown, Memphis. It's top-notch if you're going to be in Memphis and want to try our fine BBQ (and yes, they have beer)! Don't be fooled by the more commercialized "popular" ones... take it from me. So we ate a nice dinner, then we practiced. Mr. J and I then went home and had a nice quiet late evening. I arrived home too late to listen to Rockdo...
