Get Off My Cloud

Image
Stuff bugging on my brain today... and other random thoughts in no particular order. I woke up this morning thinking about how long this week has truly felt, I mean it seems like it's just been dragging on and on. I suspect this has something to do with my trying to get my motorcycle endorsement on my license, and just wanting to be out riding instead of doing anything else... but oh well. Jimi does not approve of sitting still, he demands to be ridden, and stone free. Also, being unable to go and get the motorcycle endorsement on our license and not having any other licensed motorcycle-rider that can accompany us to the DMV... either that or Trailer the bike, which we only need a trailer for like an hour, and nobody has a trailer... Uhaul charges more and for a 24-hr period... Frustrating! Elevator etiquette sucks in this town. I hate when I get to my floor, and no sooner than the doors open, someone else jumps on before I can even get off. I think people exiting the elevator shou...

Subterranean Homesick Blues

I'm feeling completely homesick today... I have old songs in my head, spring temperatures all around me and the smell of the warm summer grass beckoning me back home. I would like be sitting out in the middle of the pasture at Mom and Dad's house in my favorite spot there just where the pasture begins to go downhill-the best spot in the whole world, on a big fluffy homemade quilt, sketching or writing poetry, then lying back and watching the clouds roll over an azure blue sky... Just miss home so bad sometimes, miss my folks and miss pure, wild youth. Time is truly an overachiever... Yep, that's all I have to say today. Take it away Bob...

The Mean Monday Cloud

I've had a cloudy head today , just a tiny headache really, maybe some caffeine will rid me of that... a bit later. Do you ever just feel like your head is spinning from so much to think and do? Probably all part of my self-diagnosed A.D.D., but I just can't seem to concentrate much on the things I need to do most. Feels like the world is on 'high-spin' cycle and I need it to slow down just enough for me to bail. That's right, jump off and take a backseat so I can watch from afar for a while. The hustle and bustle never looks as exasperating that way. If you've ever been extremely far up in the floors of a tall building, or atop a large structure, looking down and observing as the rest of the world goes about their business, it's a peaceful feeling... like you're removed from it... sort of. Like the part of Ferris Bueller's Day Off , where they're looking down on the city from a window of a skyscraper, stating that the city looks so peaceful from...

Spinning Myself into a Blissful Stupor

Image
I just realized, I don't spin anymore . You know, the kind of spinning we used to do when we were little kids. Just spin yourself out of control until you collapse to the ground so dizzy you can't see straight and then look at the horizon and watch everything in sight rotate, and it would just take your breath away, and your stomach along with it. Then lie there until you were stablilized and had 'come back down to earth', then do it again... Why would we willfully choose to induce this 'vertigo'? It was liberating... it made us laugh. How many REAL 'natural' highs like that do we get in our life? Not really that many (well, I guess it depends on the person and how we see things). Let's see theres the spinning thing, sneezing, first kisses, successfully humiliating someone who's publicly made a fool out of you (that's right, revenge!), and Ice Cream-it's natural, I buy all natural, so that counts. There are a few others. Not like that tim...
