The first month of the year has come and gone, and today is February 1st. Fall really flew by, way too fast in my opinion, and I'm still a little depressed that the holiday season is over, to be honest. I like the lights and the music and the holiday movies. I like imagining that I live in New York like my favorite characters in so many movies that I watch on repeat. Man, I can't even really count how many times I have truly watched some of them, but it's up there. This was something I was thinking a lot about just the other day, how I watch t.v. shows like "Seinfeld", and "Friends", and movies like "You've Got Mail" that overly-romanticize New York City for me. They make me think, 'Hey I could actually afford to live there, and isn't it glamorous and cool?!' I have often fantasized that I would run a cool, trendy coffee shop and be a part of the art scene. Well I have had a little gap, as my schedule changed up a good bit when my last contract position ended, and I've been doing a lot of work on the house, and of course trying like heck to find my next position and hopefully a long-term to permanent position. So a bit busy, and at times, lazy, but with the transitions of things in the house, I haven't had a good "computer spot" set-up which is comfortable for me to sit for long period of time so that I could spend much time on my writing and blogging. I need a new laptop or something to be honest, that way I'd be able to set myself up pretty much anywhere and write more conveniently. Yes, I used to have one, but it broke some time ago, and without my former roommate, I have no access to one. So, once I get settled into my new job (which I have faith is coming soon), I'll safe up and get me a small, cool little notebook or something. I had a quick moment at the end of a busy work afternoon to stop and toss together a blurb or two. So, here I am. Today has been another rainy day in the River City, and while I enjoy rain, I am pretty ready for some nice weather so I can of course do some motorcycle cruising. I get antsy if I go too long without a ride. I cranked Jimi the other day just to test and juice the battery. All was well with Jimi. T.V. is in transition right now, and although I don't feel that I "overwatch" television, I do enjoy a few shows. My True Blood season 2 has ended. The finale was OK with me, the major part happened about half way through, so it left for some downtime in which we weren't sure what would happen, but it was still quite good. I enjoyed... the cliffhanger was mostly to be expected, but I was left with an overall feeling of satisfaction. We have books to tide us over until the new season anyroad. I just love animals, they are so sweet, so cute... I am big into cats and birds in particular, but love em all big and small. If you remember, I found a dancing bird called "Snowball", and he was really cool dancing to the likes of "Another One Bites The Dust" and lots more... but I ran across this bird named "Frostie" who gave me a giggle also. He likes "Ray Charles" evidently... lol This weekend I've seen some really good ones. I met one older couple who had a gargantuan "Rhodesian Ridgeback" dog, boy was he horse-like. He nearly dragged everyone that tried to lead him. But he was a sweet, big huge baby! Then today, I saw baby kittens over at Big Tracy's house. They were so sweet and adorable. Being spring, there have been lots of baby animals everywhere, baby cows, baby horses, kittens, birdies. Then of course, I get to see my own two magnificent animals (Rodney and Sal). They make my day. Animals just love you no matter wha...

I'm so tired today. Some hours just for me, time to myself, for myself... that's what I need. Everything is always for everybody else, I'm always running and doing and going, for everyone else; rarely me. It gets old. I won't go into it all, I'm just tired and need a break... and need some good fortune. It hasn't been optimal weather this week, nor has there been much time for motorcycle riding. I truly have been jonesing to ride. Over the past weekend, of course I spent both nights at Mom's, and of course didn't get a thing done at home that I needed to (maybe I never will get to again). But we rode our bikes down, even though it was freezing and foggy Saturday night. Even my good gloves don't keep me THAT warm in such temperatures. It was a nightmare, but at the same time it was kind of fun. Recently, Richie and I were contemplating how we just didn't do "spontaneous" stuff anymore. It's so easy to get caught up in the daily grin...

Good Day All! And a Happy Earth Day Too. It's not a bad one here in the Muddy River City. I noticed that that down by Tom Lee Park, they are starting the set-up for our soon-to-be Memphis In May Festival , this year celebrating the country of "Turkey". The yearly event kicks off with the Beale Street Music Festival . Looks like an interesting line-up this year... I might have to go! If you're planning a trip sometime soon, May is an eventful month to try it out. Other than that, I had salad for lunch, trying to make it through the day and get my WWC stuff together... yeah! Supposed to do more vocal recording tonight, and that's really all I have to say today. Just not a very interesting gal today. I would go into my dreams the last couple of days, they've been vivid and very strange, but really not interesting enough to detail. Today is April 1st, commonly known as April Fool's Day . April 2008 I will once again be joining the ranks over at NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month site) boasting a "Post Per Day" in April. (Coincidentally, it's also Tuesday, which is our WWC with Tink! However, I will be doing the WWC a bit later today, sorry.) The April 2008 NaBloPoMo "Theme", is "Letters". Yeah it's Friday, Yay. I'm not excited about it... what's there to look forward to. Just following along with everyone else's schedules and plan, and meanwhile trying desperately to hang on to what little identity I might have managed to save of myself. Candy can mean many things, right?? But it always stands for something delicious, anyway... Today is our Company Christmas party and what with bad budgets issues, is during the day instead of night, which is fine with me because I can never seem to make the night ones...
