Bold As Love

Do you guys even read this crap? Dunno, maybe the right person who needs it will get something from reading it. Being "Back" as I said before, is still a bit of a hit and miss for me. It's not been for a lack of trying, and I still hope to get back to writing a lot more. As with anything, it's a process and we have to take it one day at a time. I'm not going to lie, there have been many things in my life that were probably more than noteworthy over the last few months, but unfortunately they are things I just can't write about publicly. They're things that are best-kept to my private journals, which don't actually exist mind you, but I really should go back to writing my journals. I think it would help me immensely. I guess life is all about changes. Sometimes they're good, and they feel fantastic, and sometimes they feel like someone took a lead pipe to your knee caps and ripped out your liver with a fork. But we have to go through them, and we ha...

Kentucky Rain and Other Pain

I thought aside from my WWC photos the other day, I might share with you the other few photos I captured, which were nothing to write home about but at least some documentation of the trip. I'll get to those in a minute... first I'll blog. Well it is the first of October... my favorite month of the year! It denotes fall, which is officially here, but not quite painted up in all its glory just yet. I love the colors of fall. There's just something magical in the crisp cool air that breathes new life into our tired souls (mine anyway). Yes, 2009 has been a rough year for so many of us. More trials, more lessons and if you are reading this then you are winning. You are still here, and you still have another day and another chance to do something that makes a difference... whatever that may be for you. We have a tendency to get so caught up in what is wrong in OUR lives, and what WE don't have, or for the shiny bauble that we can't seem to afford that we forget there ar...

A Letter From A Long Time Ago

Sometimes I find things when I'm digging around looking for other things. Recently, I found a copy of a letter that I wrote to "Z", shortly after we ended things. I thought it might be fun to post this, you "romantics" will probably enjoy the letter and the lovely thoughts, and anyone else who has ever been in that situation might appreciate the words. Memories are all so precious, those from then and the ones that we make every day that drive us forward. Please enjoy one of my fondest memories with me for a moment. Above all, No regrets. July 3, 1997 Dearest Z, I have thought, and thought about what to write to you at this moment for months. I guess I've never really settled on it, but what you're about to read is the best I can possibly do now. On that note, I guess I'll say that this is a Thank You, Hello, Goodbye, Thinking of You, Miss You... I guess many cards all in one letter. I was always taught to give thanks first, and I thank God every ...

What The Hell Happened To Me?

We all have our daily routines, we reach a goal, hit a milestone, get comfortable. Sometimes we stay there and bask in that one glow for way too long... Change buzzes all around us, but sometimes it's too scary so we hide right in the center and let it spin right past. There is a price to pay for comfort. Growing up, I do remember wanting to be a nurse until about fourth grade. It was at that time that my mother enrolled me in a local art class taught by Mrs. Meacham. I never looked back to a medical profession again, but lived a life of a "wannabe artist" from there on. "Art Fever" had taken control of young Jackie. Early on, the aspirations took on that of a "Film Animator". I wanted to live in California, and work for the likes of Disney, Warner Bros., and really blaze a cartoon trail. Then later, Illustration won my love, and I wanted to design book and magazine covers, albums, Billboards, even package designs. My work would be the deciding factor...
