Song Of The Rain

Image
It is so easy, it seems, to hate the bad weather, thunderstorms, rainy days. But for me, there has always been something about the storms that calmed and relaxed my inner beast. Think of it, the rain cleanses our souls and cools the burn of the hot sun. The lightening reminds us that there are things out there way more amazing and powerful than us, keeping our egos in check, and the thunder, well it sings us to sleep. I remember even back to rainy days, Mom driving me to Elementary School, and I got such a cozy, relaxed feeling. The classroom was darker, calmer. I could look out and see the rain drizzling against the windows... deep sighs of tranquility . Rainbows Are Worth The Wait! Yeah, the rain cleanses... it heals. It gives us a dark before the dawn. Without our "storms", we could never truly appreciate the "beautiful" ones. Have you ever payed attention, actually 'seen' a vivid sunrise after a good heavy rain? It's like a blinding vision of Heaven...

The Monday Report

Image
Future Real American Hero ! I Believe The Children Are Our Future... lol My little nephew Blade is quite a kid, he's only 2 yrs old but he already tries to drive everything, and there isn't anything that he doesn't think he can tackle (and he tries!) The photo above was taken at 'home' when I visited Mom the other day. My niece and her husband were there, he was helping do some yard stuff for Mom, and Brandy had the baby there. So of course he was a handful and needed close observation. If nothing else, so that he wouldn't run out and try to follow his dad on the tractor while he was trying to do the bushhogging. That would've been a nice disaster to start the week off right. However, once his dad finished up, he did give him a ride on the tractor, which seemed to make him happy enough for the moment. Please note that he got up on this piece of machinery all by himself, no lie. He also attempted to crank it, but his efforts were thwarted by his dad very qui...

Panics and Pandemics

A Gazillion people are buzzing about this Swine Flu thing... I hate thinking about stuff like that. I hate "Pandemics" and disaster talks. I thought this video from "CNN" was pretty good info though, so if you are obsessing over it all, have a look. I plan on being back later with other things to gab on over, but I don't know if I will. I still promise I will be around to everyone asap though... don't give up on me!! Busy week. Until then, everyone cover your face when you sneeze or cough, if you're sick for GOD'S SAKE PLEASE STAY HOME!!! Just be smart about this stuff. Wash your hands and keep them out of your nose and mouth, and just try to keep from spreading germs around when possible... Just use your common sense, that's all. It's something we should do every damn day anyway, not just when we are in the wake of some pandemic. Embedded video from CNN Video

Video Time

Heaven Tonight Just thought about that song today and while I am still going to post more in detail later, some thoughts and junk, I thought I would leave you with a video to enjoy.

You Say It's Your Birthday

Image
Dunn-na-na-na-na-na... It's my birthday too yeah! No, not really, but it is my big sister's birthday today... February 27th. She shared a birthday with Daddy's Mom. Some say if we were all together, my grandmother, Daddy, Vickie and Me we're all like peas in a pod. Well maybe not that much but you would know we were all kin. Vickie with "Boots", their old German Shepherd Vickie and Daddy Mom Curtis with one of her grandchildren, Pat. Anyways, I just wanna say, Happy Birthday Vickie Jean (and Mom Curtis too... and Hi Daddy!!).

Foolish Love

Image
Foolish Love has certainly sent its fair share of ill-gotten booty (or ill-booten gotty) my way in this lifetime. Still, no matter how much love doesn't seem to love us, we still are drawn to it as human beings. I've been through hard times with love, and I've experienced the highest highs love has to offer... It's fabulous in its pain, and ecstatic in its pleasure. I would not trade one experience in love for anything... It's priceless. So lucky I am just to really know how it feels, to both love and be loved, and I guess on how it feels to be brokenhearted too, after all how would we know how good it feels if we've never been crushed by it's blow. All of this over-emotional gibber jabber just to introduce to you one of my favorite "Cock-rock" songs, "Foolish Love" by Lord Tracy. Rock On and Love On, and On, and On... Past Blasting

I'm not feeling very wordy today, so my blog post will be composed of videos. Have been digging through old photos and of course I am torturing people with those, but it got me feeling like old 1980s videos, commercials and so forth. Here are a few that might take you back in th' day. Enjoy. The "Mikey" Life Cereal Commercial The Wendy's "Where's The Beef" Commercial I remember "Mr. Roboto" being a big deal... so here is: Styx - "Mr. Roboto" And finally, today I have for you... 80s One Hit Wonders Grab the popcorn and watch all those and I'll be back tomorrow. Happy Hump Day Y'all!

Short But Sweet

Today finds me feeling quite antsy. I'm not sure why. Just feel the need to escape for some R&R, just some solitude. That would do nicely. Trying to look forward to weekends, as they normally offer some bit of a breather between work weeks, but it's been hard lately. Last weekend, I didn't get much rest between all my different roles, and this weekend I am sure will be the same. The weather is supposed to be nice, warm, and mostly sunny so I think I will definitely be doing some motorcycle riding. "Rev it up Jimi!" Saturday, we have plans to go and see Cheech and Chong at a Casino, so I am looking forward to that, I think. Should be a good show, and at least I can say that I got to see Cheech and Chong together in this lifetime. Of course I will have to go to Mom's and visit over the weekend, so I don't know how to swing that with Saturday night being booked... Friday night I guess? I'm just so tired by the end of the day on Friday... We'll se...

In My Mind

I've been in another R&B mood lately, I've always been very eclectic. The wouldn't allow embedding of this video, but it is really a good song. Moves me. Heather Headley's "In My Mind"

Naughty or Nice? (WWC)

Image
N ot sure that I, Aunt Jackie , would be on Santa's nice list (if he really does keep up on all that) rofl. But as we're celebrating this week, it's time for a little Christmas Cheer... right? No matter the hard times that have been going on for my family, or myself, I always find time to be plenty naughty... don't you worry about that! It is very near Christmas, so what a perfect time for Tink (Our WWC Mistress) , to choose such a theme as "Naughty" and "Nice". She's probably been a little naughty herself... so Tis The Season, and here we go my fellow bad boys and girls. I don't know two more "Naughty" boys than these two brothers. You might remember this "Naughty" devil. Could that same "Naughty" devil actually become a "Nice" Christmas Angel? Blade probably cannot decide if he wants to be a "Naughty" or "Nice" driver (give him a break, he's only 2) lol And that's all she...

Father And Daughter

Paul Simon is a great songwriter. I thought this was a very nice 'Father/Daughter' song... although someone else had created the video with various Father/Daughter photos, I still think it's very heartspoken. This is basically going to be "growing pains" week for me, for whatever reasons, and like I said I will share more actual feelings and words later. Right now, I just want to share this. I love both my parents very much, and I know I could not have been graced with any two in this entire universe any more wonderful... I am very lucky, and I am so thankful. Check out Paul Simon - "Father and Daughter" If you leap awake In the mirror of a bad dream And for a fraction of a second You cant remember where you are Just open your window And follow your memory upstream To the meadow in the mountain Where we counted every falling star I believe the light that shines on you Will shine on you forever And though I cant guarantee Theres nothing scary hiding unde...

Human Touch

Hold On To Your Adidas, Here's A Blast From The Past. The embedding was disabled on this, so you will have to Go To YouTube's Site and Watch It Thought we could use a little video on this Monday. I'm lagging a bit, and as you can see I took the weekend away from blogging, just an end of the month rest of sorts. Now we are smack-up-in November as it seems. I can't believe that this year is nearly coming to a close. Every single year speeds up, we're running in Fast-Forward aren't we? I'm going to do a little reading, watch "Heroes", and probably head off to my alternate reality (a.k.a. "dreamworld") kinda early tonight. See what interesting souls I can encounter there. Hope your week shapes up to be a good one. How was everyone's Halloween?? More mental-mung from me along with the "WWC" tomorrow. C-U-Den.

Stuck In The Middle With You

Image
Alright so I never got to finish up my WWC for this week, o.k. I feel bad about it, but I'm way behind and I am just going to have to try for next week. At least I did offer up my husband as some comic relief. :) This is Wednesday. It's the day that I thought was yesterday when yesterday was the day before, making yesterday's yesterday only Monday when I thought it was the day after... Make sense?? Well nothing else does today, so glad you could join me. Since it is "Hump Day", maybe a little good clean fun is in order. Watch The Video , it is the Sticky Note Experiments . It is fun-looking, and the colors are cool, but honestly (hate to be a stick in the mud, but...) what about all of this paper?? is it just being wasted? Did they use the sticky notes and then maybe even recycle rather than waste or discard them? O.k., I know I should be enjoying the display only, so go ahead and enjoy... Here's The Link Again . Enjoy! In other news, last night was Band Pract...

Is It Friday Yet?

It is actually Friday, but that has not relieved me much at all. The day seems to be dragging on, so I thought I would go and look at a few YouTube videos, just for a laugh. I ran across this one, "The Opening Scene from The Wedding Crashers" . It's not very long, but it's pretty funny in my opinion. I love Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, they crack me up. Great scene and probably a good message in there about marriages somewhere--lol If you've never seen the movie "The Wedding Crashers" I recommend it. It is a silly, laugh-out-loud comedy. Anything else you ask? Well, not really. I can't say that anything has grabbed my attention today, or this week except for work. Just this and that, issues that aren't worth blogging about. On the Anabolic Diet front, I am still doing well. I have not eaten a morsel of sugary goodness all week long, it's been about grilled chicken, salads, broccoli, cauliflower (which creams up to make some delicious "M...

We've Got A Lot Of Living To Do

Image
I don't have the time right this second to go back to each post and reply on all comments you guys have left me since my Dad has been in the hospital, but I will address you right here in post. The kindness, and thoughts that you've all shown truly amaze me. Just when I lose most of my faith in the Human Race as a whole, I am floored to know such wonderful big-hearted people. All of you have taken time to send me e-mails, leave me comments and also have me in your thoughts and prayers (where applicable), and I want you to know that it has meant the world to me and made all the difference to my family. You're the Whipped Cream at the top of my Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha... lol So, Wow! This has been quite a tiring week, and we've been wrapped up in our own little world being in and out of the I.C.U. with Daddy. Still, all the time I'm sorely aware that life goes on and our responsibilities don't just fade away because of our little wrinkle in time... I'v...

Let Me Know If You Wanna Go

Today, shortly that is, I will be bringing you a titillating tidbit of the Fireman story... that is, if you can take the heat!! lol Meanwhile, please jam with me on a great song by ZZ Top~~

What Ever Happened To Floor Monkeys?

Sorry I was scarce yesterday... been a tad busy. Today is a good day for some strange comedy. My friend, Faith had a little role in a "mockumentary" here with some friends of hers, and it's called "Whatever Happened to Floor Monkeys: The Movie?". Very zany... and I hope that you get it and like it too. She plays "Sweet Sally" so look for her.

War Pigs of Thursday

Busy day for me, so I will simply share a video... vintage stuff! Circa 1970... Black Sabbath.
