Friday Groove

It's felt like a pretty long week, with the heat, I have not had a very easy time waking up in the mornings. Nonetheless, it's finally Friday! Guess you could say that I am doing an "okay" job of picking back up on the blog, even though I am merely posting a few scattered thoughts as I go along. Every day I learn to accept and love myself a little more, and more and enjoy the fact that the only person's opinion that matters about my thoughts, actions how I choose to live my life is ME. =) Video thought for the day, SHAKE YO HEAD !!!

Yet Another 9/11 Post

Image
It is September 11th, and I can't go without saying that today. I still feel for everyone affected by 9/11, everyone who experienced the loss and the stark change that was September 12, the day after. This is every single one of us, we have all been affected in some ways, whether it was loss of loved ones, or growth of our hatred towards another, changes in views, hopes or whatever the case may be. It definitely changed everything. In Memphis this morning, they had a 9/11 Observance and Fire Fighter's Memorial service down at the Fire Museum area. Would've seen some of that had they not moved our offices. So let me make my own observance here. We will never forget those who have given their lives helping during this great tragedy, or the lives that were lost on that day. Now, I know this is a little creepy, but I have to share it. Can't remember what drove me to run across it, but I was looking at these 10 Creepy Vintage Ads some of which are really creepy, others kind...

Routine Joy

Well, it's Friday. Yay.

Drown and Smother

Since I was a child, I have had the occasional fever blister. Most recently, I had one like two weeks ago, and then this week (after this past Friday's extremely stressful and emotionally wearing day), I popped up with another one. This greatly distressed me, as I feel really bad on a daily basis about how I look to start with, and then to appear even more diseased with these mouth blisters makes me really go off the deep end. So I was thinking about what causes these hellish plagues. I know first off that it is already in the Herp family y'know and lies dormant in the nerve cells until it is triggered by some type of stress, or trauma to the affected area anyways... I know that sounds bad... It's NOT THE GENITAL type, of course, but it still makes one feel disgusting. Even though it is NOT, it could turn into something like that if one doesn't exercise the proper cautionary measures and cleanliness in order to prevent passing it on or having it spread. So yeah, stress ...

Just Call Me 511 (Too Much Information)

Image
Yeah it's a long title, and I have a slight OCD-type obsession with making sure that my titles are neat and tidy... what's that all about?? But I forfeited that for you guys today. Well a few people have expressed that they were looking forward to my thoughts and couldn't wait to see my junk. That's quite interesting, and could be construed as dirty, but I'll let it pass without giving you guys a hard [time]. The days continue to fly by and the time continues to slip through our fingers like monkey grease. So completely unorganized, busy and random (just like my brain), I will spill my thoughts out today as I go until I am ready to put these up for human eyes. Speaking of Grease, "Monkey Grease" I thought was what it was called... When my Dad used to work on automotive stuff, and I was hanging around him, he had this canister of really green looking "grease", and I thought I remembered him calling it Monkey Grease, but it might have been som...

Sweatin The Oldies

“I love mankind; it's people I can't stand.” ~Charles M. Schulz quotes ( American cartoonist, 1922 - 2000 ) Lord knows I myself am no longer what you might call "A Spring Chicken". So when I go on rants about people's ages, and appropriate dress in certain settings, please, please nobody take it to heart. I am also no "Skinny Chicken", so take the weight-related comments with a grain of salt as well! Although everyone should be themselves, and enjoy life, and live the way they see fit, I still feel that there are some "common sense" rules about how to carry oneself publicly. It's about knowing what people should have to look at, and about looking like a fool. You probably wonder why I even pay attention to people, but it's just me. I'm a people watcher, I like to observe others' behaviors, odd and annoying habits. Gives me something to do while I am listening intently to my eclectic music playlist. "Aging Tennis Diva...

Full Moon Fever

Image
We had a full moon this week. Sometimes crazy things happen around the full moon, and you're not out of the water until even a couple days after, but this one seemed to go o.k. for me. I'm just a little 'washed out', and ready to relax. It's still been foggy and rainy most of the week, and I've wanted to sip my cocoa and read... that's been my mood basically. Hope you all have a great weekend though... I'm going to try. If you are a "Bizarro" , then pop by I've left you a little present... you know what that means , and you know who you are . Don't forget, also check by when you can think over at WTF Friday . I haven't even thought to post or pop by there myself lately--sorry everyone!! Hope you aren't mad at your AJ! That's basically it for today, I'm going to relax and enjoy hiding in my shell tonight if at all possible. Hope your Full Moon went well or uneventful I guess... it wasn't so for others. Here are a coup...

Stay Gold

Image
It's Friday (yay!), it looks like rain, and I'm once again reminded of childhood, and all those "Nothing Gold Can Stay" moments. I always loved Happy Days re-runs so much, and of course as most of my long-time readers might know, "The Fonz" was my first 'hoodlum'. He probably played a big part in my love for Motorcycles too, even though looking back at the one he drove, mine would obliterate his (No offense Fonz). But so many wonderful moments I sat back and enjoyed the show "Happy Days". Therefore, as part of my Friday Video Chill, I wanna present the first chunk of the Happy Days Pilot, which originally aired in January 1974 (the show ended in September of 1984). Happy Days Pilot (pt. 1) Do you remember in Jr. High or High School when the teacher would plan for class to watch a film, and you always looked forward to it? They would have a class volunteer or two go and fetch the T.V./VCR Combo from the library, and we would be so excited t...

Is It Friday Yet?

It is actually Friday, but that has not relieved me much at all. The day seems to be dragging on, so I thought I would go and look at a few YouTube videos, just for a laugh. I ran across this one, "The Opening Scene from The Wedding Crashers" . It's not very long, but it's pretty funny in my opinion. I love Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, they crack me up. Great scene and probably a good message in there about marriages somewhere--lol If you've never seen the movie "The Wedding Crashers" I recommend it. It is a silly, laugh-out-loud comedy. Anything else you ask? Well, not really. I can't say that anything has grabbed my attention today, or this week except for work. Just this and that, issues that aren't worth blogging about. On the Anabolic Diet front, I am still doing well. I have not eaten a morsel of sugary goodness all week long, it's been about grilled chicken, salads, broccoli, cauliflower (which creams up to make some delicious "M...

Friday the 15th!

Image
Yeah, it's Friday and I feel a little Freaky! How about you? Maybe payday has something to do with it and I am no longer concerned on if I will have enough Petrol to make it through the week... I have survived!!! Haven't felt very productive the last couple of days, but sometimes you just have to waste time. I don't see any harm in it. Who says we have to always get everything finished that we set out to?? Hehe. On today's agenda: Hmmm, well it looks like rain, so not really gonna ride bikes tonight, but I still have to get up and go in the a.m. for the 600 mile service. Jimi will be happy to have his "check up" I'm sure! I was trying to think of things to post today, and I ran across this picture of Brad Pitt from "Interview With A Vampire". Yum. I love the way he looked in this movie, it's really about the last time I was attracted to him honestly, and who couldn't use a sexy bloodletting every once in a while? He can have my neck fo sh...

Loco

Yeah me... There's not too much to tell this fine evening. It seemed a little cooler today, maybe. I am really just bored to death and playing around on MySpace. Been a long week, glad it's Friday and just don't have much else to say. Hope you guys all had a good week, sorry to leave you with 'Grump Day', I plan on posting more over the weekend though, instead of skipping the weekend, but it will probably be later tomorrow. I could possibly do the voice podcast again, is anyone interested in listening in to that? Holla... :) AJ PS: Don't forget this is WTF Friday .

Visceral Friday

Image
I am exited and honored to say that Freakazojd has been posting again, and she has given a "word" to describe my blog, she called it "Visceral" . I am so flattered and honored to be even mentioned in the list of blogs she enjoys stopping by. In keeping with the idea that my blog is somehow "Visceral" (if you don't know what that means, boys and girls I'll let you do your own homework on that), I would prefer to think that instead of "popping by" to visit my blog, that when you are here, you are somehow invited into the deep woods of my mind so-to-speak. That's why I think my last header illustrates that point best. As with any forest (I call mine forrest), there are clearings and sunny spots, and then also dark and scary places that you think you might get lost in... same is true in my mind. Anyway, I appreciate the mention once again, Freakazojd , and am glad that you are part of my Forrest. I'm glad for each and every one of yo...

I'll Rock, Chop 'N Roll You

Image
As I made my way in to work this morning, I looked around at the cartoon-like mayhem that surrounded me. It's something that you can get numbed to because there are so many idiots, and it's just every day, all day long. But when I looked around, I just sat in disbelief and wondered if everyone felt this way, or was it JUST ME? Do the crazed numskulls simply pick me out to "cut off", or to swerve over towards, or drive slowly in front of, as if to annoy the piss out of me? I think, perhaps I have given my fellow drivers too much credit. Maybe they really are just that stupid, and they aren't even aware of it. I mean, the newer car models are made with such complicated Turn Signals, it's no wonder they don't know how to operate them, and that they commonly mistake the brake for the gas pedal. Should I just ease up on them? Hey YOU!! No-Child-Left-Behind, Hooked On Phonics, Riding The Short Bus, "Where'd You Get Your Driver's License, Mickey-D...

Fallen Angels and Summer Children

Image
Well, I have been trying to find a moment to come over and hang out with you guys for a few but It is Friday and I have been busy this week. Wednesday night, my Mother-In-Law had a severe allergic reaction to like her Blood Pressure medication, and her mouth and tongue was so swollen that her teeth were bleeding... She was taken to ER, and they had to do some sort of surgery, ending with a breathing tube until they could get the swelling down. She spent the night in I.C.U. and came home late Thursday afternoon. Thursday, after all that, Richie and I rode our Mountain bikes for a while, and went for Sushi... that was tasty. Then we tried to hit the sack early to get up and work out a bit this morning. If anyone here is a Black Sabbath fan, then you know the stories, and you know the players. Yes, other than Ozzy , none other than Ronnie James Dio at one time was the vocalist. So many of these dudes have been around vocally, more than you realize. I was shocked and awed to accidental...

Wonderful World Of Wally

Image
Hey there, how are you doing?? Wonderful! Glad to hear it. I, for one, am certainly glad the full moon this past week is done with!! Caused me nothing but extra stress and grief. I have put off further 'teen journal entries' this week, I want to sit down and actually enjoy them and not have any rants to add to the pot. There needs to be a blissful "teen mood" going on for those. Don't despair, I'll post them up sometime very soon. Let's see, what have I of interest this fine Friday?? Oh yes... Made two trips to the ever-fabulous Wally World yesterday (two trips in one day to a store that I cannot stand to shop in, but it was all due to an exchange Mr. J had to make). For those of you who may not be familiar with the term, "Wally World" is Wal*Mart . One store that promises you'll find EVERYTHING you need under one roof. They're not kidding, you can find most stuff you want, and then some... then you'll also find a lot of shite that y...

Friday Hiding

Image
Not to deter too far from NaBloPoMo's "Voices" theme , I'll have to say that 'The voices in my head are telling me to lay low' . ;) That's right, I'm still feeling anti-social today, and have been trying to hide in the shadows... Even though it has been a fabulous day outside. I've been mainly stuck in the building. I did venture out during lunch for a quick escape. Most everyone is either out sick or just gone for the day, and I'm still having to hang in here and cover things. Many places I could dream of being right now, and if I could only "pop out of body" at will, I would do so several times a day and go on quite a few adventures. Maybe one of these days... lol. Anyway, I might try to post something else later on, but for now I just don't have much energy or much to talk about. Hope all this Lethargic Apathy of mine passes soon. Maybe I will recharge at Mom's during Mother's Day weekend. I plan on finding my little sp...

Voices Carry Me Home

Making it through this week deserves some sort of celebration. I feel as though I have been in constant motion since about 5:00 a.m. on Monday Morning. I know I'm not the only one. But I'm just really tired... exhausted actually. Hoping to get home to spend some time with my family this weekend, I'm homesick. At any rate, since it has been so busy for me this week, I still haven't had the time to devote to recording myself on a fresh podcast, but I will do that this weekend. Maybe my first spoken word podcast will be Saturday... that is, if anyone is even tuned in :) Meanwhile, in keeping in the vein of May's NaBloPoMo theme of "Voices", I have decided to share two videos that I enjoyed very much. The first one is Jimi Hendrix's appearance on Dick Cavett, in which he has a pretty good interview. I put that first because, well it is JIMI... and you all know I love Jimi. I just adore hearing him talk. Hendrix Interview on Dick Cavett The Second is a vide...

There's Something About Friday

Image
I have spoken quite alot about Saturdays, and how Saturday is my favorite day of the week, but Friday is a close second. In fact, Friday has a somewhat "magical" feel to it in a way, given that I am not totally swamped or stressed. I wondered what it was about this day of the week that was so appealing to a lot of us, and in looking through Friday facts, there are some interesting findings. Frigg spinning the clouds, by J C Dollman Etymology The name Friday comes from the Old English frigedæg, meaning the day of Frige the Anglo-Saxon form of Frigg , a West Germanic translation of Latin dies Veneris , "day (of the planet) Venus." However, in most Germanic languages the day is named after Freyja —such as FrÄ«atag in Old High German , Freitag in Modern German , Freyjudagr in Old Norse , Vrijdag in Dutch , Fredag in Swedish , Norwegian , and Danish —but Freyja and Frigg are frequently identified with each other . The word for Friday in most Romance lang...

Friday I'm In Love... With You!

Image
Dear Friday, I'm so glad we both have this day off to spend together, I like you no matter what, but just being out of the office, your true colors shine through. You're relaxed, and we're both having such a good time together. The Thunderstorm was a wonderful touch, you know how much I like storms... Thanks! I know that you are not only spending time with me, Friday, but I still know that we have a very special relationship. The most important thing is that even though I don't have your complete attention or devotion, you always make me feel like I do. Thank you Friday, for always being so wonderful. I love you so much! Sincerely, AJ WTF, It's Friday already?? Yeah, if you have been working so hard that your week passed before your eyes, then you're not alone! Don't forget that Friday means great stuff to check out over at WTF Friday , so go check that out for some interesting laughs! Relax and have a fantastic weekend! You guys owe it to yourselves. If you...

Pleasure of Illusion

Image
(The TGIF Friday Post) Well thank goodness! I reached out to Jinks and she responded. Jinks Posted Everybody! Go Read . Glad to see she's peeking in again, and I'm hoping we can see and read more of her. She's really a fabulous person with alot of cool ideas and she writes very well... This post was just a short one, letting us know what she's been up to for the last few weeks but still, it's a dose of Jinks. Now her blog comments got screwed up one time, so if you read her, and wanna comment you will have to Leave Her Comments Here . She'll really appreciate if you stop by and say hello. What about me?? My sister said the other day, "You must be really busy, you didn't blog today." Yes, if I miss a day or two sometimes people think that there is something wrong with me because I blog a lot. I try to put something down even when I have nothing to say. I don't know why. Maybe it's good, maybe it's just another symptom in this disease. ...
