Weekly Words Challenge #19!

Nothing else to call it really, and not been very witty. I (guess) you guys have noticed that I didn't post all weekend. Well, I thought about it, but I had nothing interesting to bring to the table. I tried to think of feelings and ideas or anything I really had on my mind, but came up blank. Hope you'll forgive me. I will post more today and this week. I'll get back in the swing!!

Today's Weekly Words Challenge, brought to us as always by the Fabuloso Tink of Pickled Beef, is themed "Envy" and "Triangle". I admittedly dug into my archive of photos from fall, which were not that long ago, but still MINE... and brought to you the following items... I'll do better next week!!

Triangle(s)...

Always capturing signs and windows, etc from Restaurants downtown... This bar called "Swig" has a very cool logo, which does in fact include "Triangles"!


What would a Memphis photo be without the Pyramid?? Memphis' ultimate Triangle!


Envy...
I'm completely envious of this guy, out on the lake so peaceful and serene, in the chilly foggy morning... Ahhh.

I'm envious of the sky and its beauty... its ability to become anything it wants to, with its brilliant colors and lovely cloud formations.

Aside from that, the weekend was pretty boring. A friend of mine came by for a visit on Saturday night and we just hung out for a while, then yesterday I went down for a visit with my Mom and Dad, and all of my sisters showed up so we had a little family reunion. It was nice... Weird that it was just Mom and Dad (as much as he participated, because he doesn't hang in the kitchen that much, mainly watches T.V. Land)... and just all of her daughters... lol

Now it's back to the grind with the next holiday being "Presidents Day" in February... The year is already popping isn't it?? It too, will be over before we even bat an eye. Holidays are cool though, I enjoy any day that we get paid and don't have to come in. Who wouldn't??

Ok well that's it for me today, and I will do my best to bring more enjoyment, philosophical, comedic or otherwise throughout the week... Check back when you can!! I miss all of you when you don't come around. I will try to blog visit myself as soon as I get a bit more free time today... I promise!!! :)

That "Swig" logo is so freakin' cool. I wish I had created it! I love the man on the boat in the foggy lake too. Every morning I pass people shrimping and fishing off our bridge and I sigh. Because seriously, what do they do for a living that allows them such a luxury?!

As I was driving around this weekend I thought to myself "If I lived in Memphis I could go take a picture of the Pyramid for "triangle." And then I thought "I bet Jackie does that." And then I thought "If she doesn't I'll tease her about it."

So, you don't get teased today Jackie. ;-)

Glad you posted though. I was getting worried. I thought I was going to have to come down there and see what the heck was up!

When Potato Salad Goes Bad

I have always loved Far Side cartoons... this one about Potato Salad going bad was one of my favorites. Just the mental image of spoiled food pulling a gun gives me a giggle. Larson rules. However, bad food in the fridge is sometimes no laughing matter. I recently let some broccoli sprouts go beggin' and they tried to take the entire household hostage, guests and all. Funny thing about broccoli sprouts, they are against guns and drugs, and totally for Animal Rights but they carry tazers. It's really confusing, and a lesson hard learned. :) So anyway, yeah another make up post I did for yesterday. So sue me... not that it makes a big impact. We've had internet connection problems, which are still ongoing. The technician arrived in decent time and said our equipment was o.k., and that there had been an issue going on in our area, here and there... they were working on it. Maybe it will be resolved soon. I sure hope so, it's just agitating and it goes down at the worst tim...

Birthday Blast

Yes, I think I will just claim 15 again, and stay there. Looking back, my teen years were worry free. I mean, there was the bi-weekly broken heart and all, but geez. It was a time when people said, "You've got your whole life ahead of you." and it was still true... wait, well it's still true, just now there is less of it ahead of me. That's all. No, I actually didn't get a cake, or any kind of party... Didn't really care. Basically, I just took off two extra days and treated myself to a 4 day weekend in honor of my birthday. Today, June 22nd is the actual date. However, my honorary "celebration" of it began when I got off work Friday night. We met up with some friends at the Midtown Sekisui, and then came home to watch a few more episodes of "Weeds", a tv series that many of you are probably familiar with, one that my 'ol' man' got me hooked on. Finally we have finished the series thanks to Netflix Streaming , and can await...

Thirsty

For those of us who are a slave to the grind, we've almost made it through another work week, that's a great blessing! For those of you who don't have to report to anyone for your paycheck, well it's another beautiful day, so enjoy! Richie went back to work today after Monday's oral surgery, still felt a bit loopy he said but all-in-all it has been a swift recovery. I'm glad... I did the best I could to take care of him. So the weekend is in sight, and I'm trying to think of fun things to do. It's so hot weather-wise, and I don't mean to complain but I hate feeling sweaty and smelly. I like being pleasantly fragrant and sassy. Nothing much to report otherwise, so I will let you go with a few cute graphics about the heat, one of which I stole from BBC's blog again (he always has the funniest cartoons). So there you go.
