Quotes and L (WWC)

Hello, my friend, hello Its good to need you so Its good to love you like I do And to feel this way When I hear you say Hello So Hello! :) As you can see, I made it back from my biking trip in one piece. We had a good time, although a 17 year old member of our posse was the only one who caught any incriminating evidence of debauchery due to the breaking of Mr. J's glasses, but that's another whole story. We started out way too early on Saturday morning because I thought we were supposed to meet the guys about 6 a.m., and he had said 7 a.m., so we woke up at 4 a.m. and could've slept longer, which I really wished I had in retrospect. So we ate breakfast at Shoney's, had coffee and waited for everyone else who was supposed to head out with us to arrive. Finally we were off to hit the trail. Early in the day clouds were still taunting us, and we encountered a few showers, nothing major. The scenery as we headed up through Tennessee and once we crossed over into Kentucky wa

Albummed

We had a slight delay in leaving for Bowling Green, but not to worry, I'm on my way. Just had a moment to throw down a quick couple of thoughts, that's all. The rain is supposedly clearing up a bit, and it is about time. I know everyone has been getting edgy, agitated and catching the blues (not to mention of course Flu . I promise some interesting story or picture(s) when I get back. Until then, I will leave you with a couple points to ponder. It all started with Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" album. I don't know why I am just not paying attention to this, possibly because I have never had an interest in Mick Fleetwood's nether region. Have you ever wondered about this album cover? I'm sure that I am not the first by a long shot, and I'm probably way behind on this joke... But did they mean to do this, or do you think he just thought he was wearing a cool outfit and was oblivious? What a ballsy album cover! After researching that, I found a page about

Denied

Hardly able to post the last few days. Every time I try to start one I get interrupted. When I am home, Mr. J won't let me get a peaceful moment to myself to post a few words. It's hard to get quiet time with no noise. Of course at work, I can't either, so I am doing the best I can now. Quick note, I know I have fallen off my WWC, which nobody has been by to check in on that anyways, except my B.B.F.F. (Bloggin Best Friend Forever-ha-ha) Jay (Cynical Bastard). He keeps check on me. Hopefully you guys don't hate me, but it's just been such a stressful whirlwind of stuff lately... I'm really tired of the daily grind and the hustle and flow... I need a mountain spring and a cold foggy lake morning with a hot cup of coffee. Luckily, we're going this weekend to Bowling Green so I'll have something new and interesting to talk about. Meanwhile, if you guys could help me with WWC by telling me what the heck to do with it now. I am lost. I don't know where to

The Long Dark Tea Time Of My Soul

Image
Time for a Tea Break, what do you think? The rain has been pouring off and on all week around here. I enjoy the calming effects of the rain, but I am kind of ready for some sunshine. So, it has a somewhat gloomy week. There have been quite a few thoughts floating around in my head as well, so I thought I would try to pin some of these down here if I can manage. First of all, today's the anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's Death. Most of you who know me, know that Jimi Hendrix is a very favorite guitarist and writer of mine. I admire his music not only for the emotion he put into his songs, but for his ability to express things in color and words too. It's just special to me, and I love everything about his music, not to mention the personal significance of it in my life (like for me and Mr. J, etc). I liked him so much of course, you should also know that my motorcycle is named after him. But anyway, nothing much else can be said about the man that hasn't already. He made a

Day's Of Our Lives

Image
I had a quick moment at the end of a busy work afternoon to stop and toss together a blurb or two. So, here I am. Today has been another rainy day in the River City, and while I enjoy rain, I am pretty ready for some nice weather so I can of course do some motorcycle cruising. I get antsy if I go too long without a ride. I cranked Jimi the other day just to test and juice the battery. All was well with Jimi. T.V. is in transition right now, and although I don't feel that I "overwatch" television, I do enjoy a few shows. My True Blood season 2 has ended. The finale was OK with me, the major part happened about half way through, so it left for some downtime in which we weren't sure what would happen, but it was still quite good. I enjoyed... the cliffhanger was mostly to be expected, but I was left with an overall feeling of satisfaction. We have books to tide us over until the new season anyroad. With the finales of some shows, other shows are bringin in their fall se

Snot A Miracle

Image
The Bible gets a fish miracle story, and then here I am with my seemingly limitless supply of snot. Where the hell does it all come from? I think if I could harness the power of lugees then I would be able to take over the world, maybe even become dark overlord of the universe. I know, that's nasty. No nastier than this week in news, and I have grown so bored with it. OK, so I was interested about the Kanye West topic from the MTV VMA awards on Sunday night, so yes admittedly I looked up the trending topics and tried to see what happened after the fact. I read about his apology to Taylor Swift and peeked in on Leno last night just to see what he'd say. I bought into it and took my place among the sheep... Yes, I am ashamed. The fact of the matter is, I am not taking sides for either West or Swift. I like all types of music, am not a racist and am sick and tired of everyone who IS twittering, blogging and yapping about this whole incident saying it is about race. He should not

Y' Gotta Fight For Your Right...

To party? And of course "self expression"Check it out. Seen at a Walmart store somewhere in Oklahoma (Should it be changed to Rocklahoma?) Captioned: "Cause I Like To Party" "Let’s run through my rock star list….Mullet? – check; big sunglasses? – check; heart shaped tattoo? – u know i love my mom; Cut jean shorts? – are there any other type of shorts?; wife beater tied at the midriff – check;….. He is an official ROCK STAR!" Yes... and where did I find this little jewel? Over at a little site called People Of Walmart (peopleofwalmart.com) . An old friend of mine forwarded that link to me. Believe me there are a lot more funny ones to see there, so check it out. I'm still venturing through the laughs. In other news, we saw a pretty good Mullet at the casino last night when we went for Mr. J's brother's birthday dinner. I am serious, it was a real winner. A very "Wizard of Oz Lion" golden blonde, with a choppy short top and long luxur

Yet Another 9/11 Post

Image
It is September 11th, and I can't go without saying that today. I still feel for everyone affected by 9/11, everyone who experienced the loss and the stark change that was September 12, the day after. This is every single one of us, we have all been affected in some ways, whether it was loss of loved ones, or growth of our hatred towards another, changes in views, hopes or whatever the case may be. It definitely changed everything. In Memphis this morning, they had a 9/11 Observance and Fire Fighter's Memorial service down at the Fire Museum area. Would've seen some of that had they not moved our offices. So let me make my own observance here. We will never forget those who have given their lives helping during this great tragedy, or the lives that were lost on that day. Now, I know this is a little creepy, but I have to share it. Can't remember what drove me to run across it, but I was looking at these 10 Creepy Vintage Ads some of which are really creepy, others kind

Down In The Park

Image
Down in the park Where the machmen meet The machines are playing `kill-by-numbers Down in the park with a friend called `five I was in a car crash Or was it the war? Well, Ive never been quite the same Little white lies like I was there Come to zom-zoms, a place to eat Like it was built in one day You can watch the humans Try to run Oh, look, theres a rape machine Id go outside if it looks the other way You wouldnt believe The things they do Down in the park Where the chant is death, death, death Until the sun cries morning Down in the park with friends of mine We are not lovers We are not romantics We are here to serve you A different face but the words never change

Nines, Xs and Ohs

Image
The number 9 is my favorite number. It's also Mr. J's favorite number. Isn't that cute? It was like that wayy before I met him, so we honestly did not copy one another. Our first things in common were "9" and "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix. I had a baseball jersey (still do) that I wore to a party, from the radio station in fact that I worked at, with my last name and the numbers '999' on the back. His "band nickname" was in fact "9". So there you go... I thought it was interesting, and probably the most fated and romantic thing about our union to date ;) So today is 9/9/09. I think that should mean something cool, but so far the day has just been a coughing catch-up festival for me, and a work day. Still waiting for my magic portal to open. (dramatic pause, followed by the clearing of throat and a nose blow) Now what was I going to mention?? Hmmm, let me ponder... Oh yes, this was something I was going to talk about the other

Adopt Your Pets, Don't Buy!

Take Just Four Minutes, Watch This Video, And Pledge To ADOPT Your Next Pet. Between three and four million dogs and cats are euthanized each year in animal shelters in the United States. But if more families looking for a pet this year would adopt their new furry friend from a shelter, we could put an end to this tragedy. That's why I encourage you to watch this inspiring music video to the song "I Need Love" by Daylight for Deadeyes. Then take our pledge to adopt your next pet -- you will be saving a life!

Post Is Toast

I had an entire post all put together and completed, and something happened to my connection. When I hit "Submit" the whole thing got lost. I will try to remember and reconstruct it but I am very P/O'd right this second.

September Mourn

Image
Wow, the year is really flying by... the days and weeks are chugging along! Happy September everybody! That means we have a holiday coming up for Labor Day (here in the U.S.) Honestly, I started a post, and kept trying to jot down ideas for what I wanted to say, but each time I would get ready to put something to it, I would get interrupted by things that I had to do, work or some issues that demanded attention. I'm telling you it has remained so crazy and tiring like that. I love to blog, and it relaxes me, but I just can't seem to get time to clear my mind and focus. A nice long Vacation and R&R is much needed by your dear Aunt Jackie, I swear... I don't think many people are stopping in these days, so not much is getting missed... but still, it's my blog and I'll rant if I want to... that is, when time is kind enough to allow. Maybe I can get in a good one tomorrow. Damn "The Man"!!
